• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Border Patrol

Hey, as long as they catch them before they break into my desert cabin again - I don't care where they check. Anyway, this is not a political forum. I posted it because I think it is humorous how far the interest in these Spyders spreads. I enjoyed telling them all about it, as I would anyone...

    Julian ride

:agree: What he said! BTW - Lamontster, 172 miles total, when I reached my desert cabin, and I still had three bars on my gas gauge.

    Julian ride

DO IT! We should meet in front of Dudley's Bakery. However, as someone already pointed out it's a very small town so Spyders anywhere would be easy to spot.

Smokester - really sorry you won't be there. :(

    Getting off

On the two trikes I built from Yamaha TW200's (see avatar) I machined adapters (so the pegs would swing back) to mount ATV foot pegs (YFZ450 pegs). This gave me much better foot support and foot bracing ability when cornering or riding off camber (off camber not a problem on pavement). I intend...

    Julian ride

Hi guys, Lamonster posted this morning (Friday) that he is on for the ride. :2thumbs: I'll see you all in Santa Ysabel at noon Saturday. I'll be looking for the Spyders. :spyder:

    Birds of a feather

Great! Since I'll be going through Julian on my way to Santa Ysabel (coming over from the desert) I may start early, to visit a friend there before riding down to Santa Ysabel to meet at noon. See ya

    Border Patrol

On the lonely desert highway that passes my Anza-Borrego cabin there is a Border Patrol checkpoint. Just some trailers out in the blazing desert sun - poor devils, they sure earn their money. I rode my Spyder to Ocotillo for a couple of cold ones and on the way back to my place I expected to be...

    Birds of a feather

Lamontster, Are you on for the ride out of Santa Ysabel, noon, Saturday?

    Julian ride

We meet in Santa Ysabel, noon, per the original plan, and ride from there to the Hideout. I only mentioned Lake Henshaw because that is the general direction we go, to get to the Hideout, sorry about the confusion. We don't actually go all the way to the lake. After the Hideout we go back...

How to make life long friendships

Hope you can get the problems fixed and make it to Santa Ysabel on Saturday and you can add another Spyder Ryder friend to your list. Hey, I was just thinking - if your Spyder will only go 40 mph that's OK, I'll be able to stay with you on the Julian ride. Frank

    MAN what a day-

OK, I'll see you in Santa Ysabel at noon Saturday. We can ride to the Hideout for lunch (on me), then up to Julian and kick around there for awhile. At that point I'll probably head back down the mountain to my desert place but you could continue south on the Sunrise Highway (stays up...

    MAN what a day-

I got the air to hold for about 30 miles at a time so it wasn't too bad. It was very hot today too and I got about a block from home and the Spyder went into limp mode. My guess is it was just hot. After a trip to the car wash it was fine. I think the Spyder has a cooling issue that I'm going...

Lamonster Ride to San Diego by way of Sturgis

Lamonster, are we still on for meeting in Santa Ysabel, CA - on the 9th - at about noon - for the Julian ride? Smokester says he will be there.

    Julian ride

I did, look back. Frank BTW - a good start to the ride would be to the Hideout (near Lake Henshaw) from Santa Ysabel. We could have a hamburger and a beer, or soft drink, and then go back through Santa Ysabel and up to Julian. The Hideout is only open on Sat and Sun and gets a huge number of...

    Julian ride

Hi Smokester, I'll already be at my desert cabin which is an hour east of Santa Ysabel so I'll be riding back up through Julian from there, and down to Santa Ysabel to meet you guys. I've got the Spyder on the trailer right now and will be taking it to the desert tomorrow (Fri.). If it's not...

    Julian ride

Noon it is then. Here it is: Saturday, 08/09, 12:00 noon @ Santa Ysabel. There are usually a number of bikes there (near Dudley's Bakery) on a Saturday but we have the advantage of not looking like the other bikes so we can find each other easily. :spyder: Frank

    Julian ride

Lamont, what about it? Are we on for Saturday Aug 9th? What time in Santa Ysabel? It will take me about an hour to get there from my desert cabin. I don't know how far the others are coming from.

    Julian ride

Lamontster says in his "ride to San Diego' thread that he could do the Julian ride on Saturday August 9th. What about it guys? Frank

Lamonster Ride to San Diego by way of Sturgis

I'll try for that (Sat 08/09). I'll go back to the "Julian Ride" thread and see if any of those are still interested. Frank
