• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    AZ spyder tech

Haven't had ridenow's 'service' but buddy tried Nash.. Eventually they figured out the problem on his can-am sxs but it took several trips.. Not sure I'd recommend

    No compression

Almost any modern engine is what's called an 'interference' engine whereby the piston and valves occupy the same space, hopefully not at the same time. So if the valve/piston timing is off by more than a couple of degrees it's very likely that they would collide. The result is the valve stem...

    Getting stopped...over and over...

That car wouldn't be legal to import and register here due to emissions and sound ordinances. North America only has 2 direct neighbors that can drive in so seeing other plates here would be a rarity. In places like Europe, middle-east or Africa where countries are physically small, cross...

2018 & 2019 Spyders - Weak Signal and Speaker Crackling Noises

Has the battery and alternator been tested on these for output under load? Both the steering and the fan startup are high loads, and seems to correspond w/ the noise in the radio. A momentary drop in voltage will cause problems w/ the amp resulting in noise - if the amp is unregulated it will...

Helmet ventilation and cooling for hot desert riding?

Just saw a similar technology come up in bicycle helmets - think bontrager..?

    Americans retiring broke

A dollar doesn't buy what it used to. Some basic items have kept pace w/ basic inflation but many items - esp big ticket items have risen much faster than either cpi or inflation and more than the rise in income. Houses and cars take a much larger percentage of your income than they used to...

Helmet ventilation and cooling for hot desert riding?

On pic 4 it looks like the foam could be opened a hair on the upper left hole of the pic, like it's malformed - prob splitting hairs. If you put a scoop on top of your noggin, it's may make it uncomfortable on your neck, gonna catch the wind more - and may cause helmet lift. But a small...

Helmet ventilation and cooling for hot desert riding?

Got this article mailed to me - it does talk about what I like to call the hair-dryer effect. Science isn't completely fleshed out but does point to the fact that at some point no matter how much air flow you get you're only gonna get hotter...

Helmet ventilation and cooling for hot desert riding?

Have you checked the venting in your helmet to make sure that foam/fuzz/crap or something isn't blocking up the channels?

What are you paying for insurance? Who are you insured with?

So that's $50/mo per vehicle for full coverage? Doesn't sound all that terrible, what's your deductible?

Helmet ventilation and cooling for hot desert riding?

Never found much relief here from the heat. I tend to not ride in the heat, just too hot out. If cracking the visor open a notch didn't get enough air flow, I doubt any helmet would via venting. Could try a white helmet if you don't have one. Color does make a difference. Look like you're...

My Ryker low fuel indicator is puzzling

The accuracy of the fuel gauges has been called into question for a long time on off-road products. My x3 isn't bad but my buddies maverick trail is terrible. Drives him crazy. Seems to be a brp thing - inaccurate, dont move at all, and when they do move they go to empty very early.

    Automatic Air System Parameters

Maybe I missed this, but why are you trying to mostly remove the usefulness of the air bag system? Air bags themselves have been very reliable for years - they're used in semi-trucks and are capable of very high weight capacities if designed properly. I understand the compressors and...

A word to the wise regarding CVT belt

If the belt's been overheated, it's probably time to replace it. On the x3's at least they don't last long after high heat. They don't filter the offroad belt intakes because you should be in there occasionally blowing out the system, and half the time the filters are plugged anyhow. Which...

    Are Spyder sales Declining Fast?

Not sure which Ridenow you were at but there were several Spyders (F3's and RT's) at the Peoria location when I took a test ride. Bout 2 weeks ago. The motorcycle ind is headed for dark territory. There's been articles for the last few years as sales have been slumping in general. As the...

1330cc My 2014 RT is Over heating - any ideas on how to correct?

I've got a 4th gen Camaro, LS1 these cars are notorious for being extremely difficult to get all of the air out of the cooling system. Very similar to the Camaro symptoms of not getting them purged completely. I'm not sure how difficult these are to purge but this started w/ a low coolant...

    Brake Failer Reset Frustration!!!

Starter solenoids are like big relays. I've had them stick. Sometimes smacking them w/ a hammer will unstick them. It's only temporary but usually it'll get you home.

My 2012 RT has developed Windshield Sparkles! Anyone else? Any ideas to fix, or just replace?

Looks like sand pitting we get here in AZ. Almost imperceptible little tiny chips. Breaks the clear coat which then allows the sun to start yellowing the headlights.

Thinking about spare fuel container location

I don't remember who's machine it was but recently when their back tire let loose it did a ton of damage to the back end of the bike. I can imagine that's a possibility w/ the gas can behind the wheel there. Use your own judgement though.
