• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you reply when asked about the Spyder?

I noticed on my recent cross country trip that my Spyder got attention from both 2 wheeled riders and non-riders. A lot of non-riders approached me to ask about it. To those, I just said yes, it was a lot of fun and I felt safer on it than on 2 wheels. I heard a lot of "that's something I'd like...

Transition from 2 wheels to 3

+1 on all the advice above. For me, there were two transition points. The first was about 500 miles, when I stopped feeling like I was going off the Spyder on the corners. The second was about 1,500 miles, when I suddenly realized that I had stopped thinking about it and was just riding. I too...

    Buying a spyder long distance

Thanks for this thread! I've finally convinced my husband that he needs to join me on 3 wheels, so we're shopping for a second Spyder. There is only one local dealer, so we were thinking about trying to buy elsewhere and have it shipped here (or, if it's not too far, ride it home). We're in SW...

    Spyder Sightings

I hit the Spyder sighting jackpot. I’ve seen 15 (3 trailered) headed west on I90 toward Rapid City.

    Spyder Sightings

I drove through RC today- maybe you saw my Virginia Spyder.

    Moving down a dirt/gravel road

I have an F3S and a 1 mile gravel driveway. I’ve been going in and out on the Spyder for 2 years without any problems. At first, I went really slowly, but now I drive it about as fast as I do my car.

    Glacier National Park

Utah-Geezer, I was there the same time as you. Did you stop at the restaurant/gift shop at the east entrance to the park? I saw a white RT parked there as we drove by. Actually, it wasn’t as crowded as it had been when I had visited before. There was a mess near Logan where everyone was trying...

    Installing Shad LED Brakelight Kit

    Installing Shad LED Brakelight Kit

This is going to be my first foray into wiring, so I've been trying to find a video to follow. I've just installed a Baker Built rack and the Shad 58X case, in preparation for a cross country trip later this month. Since I read a few comments that the rack could block the Spyder brake lights. I...

Do we like modular helmets or not???

I used a full face for over 10 years, then switched to modular (HJC RPHA MAX). Love the helmet, and really like the Pinlock insert. It makes an enormous difference when riding in bad weather. I can remember riding with my full face helmet in bad weather with my visor cracked open to try to keep...

Advice needed for new communication system

Thanks, ned64. That's probably what I should do. Most of the positive stuff I've seen here has been for Sena gear.

    What Jacket are you wearing?

I love my Tourmaster mesh jacket because of the versatility. With the two removable layers (quilted vest and waterproof liner) it works in all kinds of weather. And when it's hot, I've still got armor even though the jacket is mesh. It was around $200. The sizing runs small, at least in...

Advice needed for new communication system

So, my husband and I are about to do a 3 week trip out west, and are discussing updating our ~5 year old communications system. We're on 2 rides (my F3-S and his 2 wheeler) and rarely separate by more than half a mile or so. We've been using a Scala Q3 system, which does work, but even after...

    Seat Cushion

I've been thinking about getting an Airhawk as well, but I can't decide on the size. Which fits better on the Spyder, the medium or the large?

    Sticker Shock!

I bought the Can-Am Spyder 2015 F3 F3S Cross Country Detachable Saddlebags on Amazon. They're now down to $950, about $150 less than when I ordered them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BFHCZ22/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Spyder Sightings

Wow, saw 2 today in the Blacksburg, Virginia, area! First was a yellow, maybe F3, on Rt 114 going north toward Christiansburg, then a white one (maybe an RT) going south on Prices Fork Rd. Both were single riders.

Suggestions for WY/MT/Idaho good to ride region?

All great routes! Beartooth is amazing. Two other quick notes: There is another wonderful pass in Wyoming that is much less traveled (but not as consistently spectacular as Beartooth). If you go northeast out of Cody on Alt 14, after Lovell you start climbing. A good part of the ride is...

    A Thread Worth Responding To

Hard to limit this to two! About 10 years ago (back in my 2 wheeler days), my husband and I were riding across Kansas and spent the night in Dodge City. We had been riding by cattle feedlots most of the day. We walked to the restaurant next door, a steakhouse that had locally sourced fresh...
