• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Barffed out my oil

Thanks for your help Ron. It looks like I might be lucky. The top bolt sheared off but good news is that there is 3/8" from the crank case. Should be able to back it out. Now here is the interesting part. Bottom bolt is "hourglassed" in about the same spot as the break on the top bolt. It...

    Barffed out my oil

Did a O/C about 3 weeks ago have about 400 km on since, riding today and I came off a light and my back wheel was spinning like mad. Pulled over to see left side all covered in oil. Pulled off the access panel and it appears the top bolt for the filter cover either came off or sheared off? If it...

Too Funny- Spyder 5 Mickey Fisher

"Is it front wheel drive?...I said nope 4 wheel drive!" they just stand there trying to figure it out. We were in Victoria BC in June and waiting for everyone to get off the ferry and these two Dutch guys come by and they started to give me the "look", you know the one, where you KNOW they were...

Hydroplaining - Is it an issue?

Like I read some where before with respect to pot holes...if you dont hit it with the front wheels your gonna nail it with the rear. I had 3 choices on that road, one front in rut and right front and rear out, both fronts out and rear in (that was the worst) or shoulder, I took the shoulder.

Hydroplaining - Is it an issue?

In June we did a trip across MT, ID and WA we ran into heavy rain around Troy MT, the road had deep tire grooves and they filled with water, I was being followed by a couple of buddies on leaners (my name for 2 wheel motorcycles) and then all hell broke loose, I was slipping and sliding all over...

What windshield do you recommend on the RS for freeway driving?

Firstly I will say at 6'8" nothing is made "perfect" for me (had to have the seat carved back 4" on my GS). I bought the BRP 23" and it helped over the short one but the wind hit me in the face, bought the Mandstad and jacked it wayyyyy up (took out the mounting bolts and moved them higher up...

A new Can Am riding gear survey

I got this email yesterday too, they said they are giving away a $200 gift card for CanAm stuff. I wonder if it is one card or several. $200 is a cheap cost for a survey.

    After Market Oil Filter Question

I need to do a oil change on the Spyder soon, still under warrantee for a couple more years. I was thinking of using one of Ron's aftermarket filters. Has anyone ever had warrantee problems with using non BRP filters? I mean if the engine packs it in will BRP come back and say its a non BRP...
