• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    A Scottish lad and lass

A Scottish lad and lass were sitting on a low stone wall, holding hands, gazing out over the loch. For several minutes they sat silently. Then finally the girl looked at the boy and said, "A penny for your thoughts, Angus." "Well, uh, I was...

    Helicopter Landing at Sea

Gearing Class came from the Sumner Class. Most of the Gearing class keels were laid during WW2 being commissioned in the early to mid 40s and the rest weren't completed till after the war in the 1950's. They were 390' long and 40' at the Beam, twin screws, 4 boilers with a max speed of about 38...

    Helicopter Landing at Sea

I was a Boatswain's Mate on a Gearing Class Destroyer and the flagman for landings, refueling, personnel and mail details. Those Helo pilots were amazing and very skilled in all types of weather conditions. I remember a call from the carrier Bon Homme Richard (Bonnie Dick) while avoiding a...

    Fuel Price report...

ThreeWheels, How much is that cost is going to state in taxes? It seemed every time I filled up when I lived in CT, the cost went up $0.03 cents for road repair, while the potholes got bigger. It was around $0.38 per gallon when I lived there and seemed every time the price of gas went down, the...

Slingshot not street legal in Connecticut

This doesn't surprise me about CT. They just haven't figured how to tax it. Sale price or each MPH over 60 MPH? As a kid in high school in CT we used to complain that the sidewalks rolled up at 8 pm and on Friday and Saturday nights, we often rode around saying "What do you want to do? I don't...

    Tradition

When four of Santa’s elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the pre-Christmas pressure. Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he...

    A Good Joke

A recent article in the Dominion Post reported that Nancy Pelosi has sued Wellington Hospital, saying that after her husband had surgery there, he lost all interest in sex. A hospital spokesman replied: "Your husband was admitted for cataract surgery. All we did was correct his eyesight.”

Mechanic makes incredible save after forgetting to set emergency brake

I bought a house about a year after moving here from CT, that had a garage but no way to use it because of an inlaw apartment behind it and turned into a family room with an addition added to that. I keep the Spyder in a 7'x14' enclosed trailer and the truck sits outside next to the trailer...

    Avon Grips

Thanks for the information about the Grip Puppies/Grip Buddies. I do have heated grips when the temps hit the mid to high 90's here in the summer and the Spyder is either in the enclosed trailer with vents open or out in the sun. Grabbing the grips can be :yikes: if not wearing my summer riding...

I was talking to an Avon Grip vendor during Thunder Beach, last weekend and called the company on Monday. They do have two metric grips but none to fit the Spyder.
