• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    in court as a juror

They are now using ignition interlocks in Washington state that take a photo of the person doing the blowing as it is done. No pic/not the actual driver? Biiig trouble when you get busted!

    2012 RT SE5 Shift Issues

So, hopped on Charlotte this morning to head off to work, went to merge onto the freeway . . . and could not upshift. Multiple jabs at the shifter finally got me up to 3rd, which was enough to take the first exit and head back home. Lynnwood Motoplex has one Spyder tech on vacation all next...

Looking for a COUNT for the Spyders "Not Afraid of the Dark" Ryde

Lauren and I are planning on doing this ride as the Five-Wheel Gang (me on my RT and her on her Vulcan).

    Spyder Pin Program

Huh, I never got anything like that. Maybe because I bought a "new" 2012 in 2013? This is the first I've heard of this pin thing, and I have 8300 miles on a bike just purchased in February!

IS it a trike or motorcycle

Actually, the way it works in Washington state is that a 3-wheel vehicle is a motorcycle unless it meets all three of these criteria: 1. Driver/passenger compartment enclosed. 2. Has a steering wheel. 3. Has seat belts. If it doesn't have all three of those things, then it's a motorcycle, and...

Having to reset saved audio/radio settings over & over

I don't use the radio (I always hook my iPod up), so I don't know if there's anything going on with that, but I also (2012 RT-S) have to turn the automatic volume control back on once a week or so.

    Spyder Sightings in WA

Saturday, 7/27: Dark blue RT seen near the Kirkland exit on SB I-405 around 9:30 am. We were behind you from there all the way down to 167 in Renton.

Spyders "Not Afraid of the Dark" Ryde

Lauren and I would be up for this - we'll be coming off of three weekends of no riding and rarin' for something nice and long and twisty!

    Ride Around Camano Island

Lauren and I would love to be there, but this Saturday is set-up day for the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire, which we will be performing at for the first three weekends of August. We will be thinking of y'all while we are setting up tents and dragging hay bales! Come out and see us in...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Charlotte. When the tabs come up for renewal next year, if it's still available and I have the cash, considering getting the custom plate "CHRLOT" for her.

    Driver/passenger communications

My wife and I often stop at the grocery store on the way home from a ride, and will split up in the aisles. The looks on the faces of other shoppers as we walk around discussing our shopping needs without being in sight of each other are priceless. (If we're just grabbing a few things, we often...

The Big "O" Ride poker ride Orting wa.

Lauren and I will be doing this ride - anybody else planning to attend? We will be leaving home (right off of exit 22/160th St on I-405) no later than 6 am, maybe a little earlier, if anybody wants to make arrangements to ride down together.

    Filler up?

I've never gotten more than about 4.6 gallons into my tank, and that's with the low fuel light on. The fuel gauge on my Spyder seems to actually correspond roughly to about 4 gallons - if I have 30 miles on the trip meter, I'll be at about 3/4 of a tank, at 60 I'm at half, etc. I go more by the...

Washington Spyders Owners Event "Heart of Washington Ride"

In yet another stunning reversal of plans, it looks like we'll be able to make this ride after all. We'll be leaving from the Bothell area around 5:30ish on Friday - anybody want to join up for the ride out? We'll be staying in the KOA, after getting a look at hotel prices (ye gads!).

GPS not working through radio speakers

You only need to pair it with the headset. I have the Zumo 660 and can play it through my G9 headset easily after pairing it. I don't seem to be able to get it to play through the bike speakers for love nor money, though - but I also always have my iPod hooked up, which seems to be the likely...

Washington Spyders Owners Event "Heart of Washington Ride"

Turns out the Five Wheel Gang won't make it after all - some unexpected financial bad news is most likely going to put this trip out of our reach. If it's at all possible, we'll be there - but it's not looking real likely at the moment. We were looking forward to seeing old new friends and...

Washington Spyders Owners Event "Heart of Washington Ride"

Am I an idiot? (Zumo 660 mounting question)

So, yeah . . . the GPS that wouldn't talk to me a couple days ago? Now talks to me. I have no idea what I did (not much), but everything seems to be working just as it ought to now. Thanks for the help and suggestions, guys!

Am I an idiot? (Zumo 660 mounting question)

Okay - Roger: thanks, the dummy plug cover was the problem! ThreeWheels: thanks for the video link, that tells me that I have the jacks hooked up correctly. Now, next stupid question - am I supposed to be getting the audio through the speakers, or do I still need to use Bluetooth? If it's...

Am I an idiot? (Zumo 660 mounting question)

Thanks for the suggestion, Roger! I should get the panels back off by the weekend (I commute to work every day, so I can't just leave the bike in pieces!), if I don't get it done tonight, and check out that plug again. I thought there might be some kind of cover on the adaptor plug, but I never...
