• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    6000 mile check up.

What else did they do to it and how much did it cost? It is pretty standard for a dealer to clean the vehicle.

    Longest ride on your Ryker?

I really don't keep track of mileage, I often put a thousand miles in a week. I know some rides are 3 tank fulls of gas. Every mile has been fun.

    5,000+ miles. What’s Next

Another 5,000 and keep going. Outside of suspension I don't anything I would see as a upgrade( except for the HWY101 sticker I put on the front) In the old days you really could increase performance. With all the computers I am not sure any upgrade is worth it unless you just like it. My 9000 is...

New plugs gapped at .029 have improved gas mileage

A 900 with about 13,000 miles of fun on it.

Do I need to take this puppy up to 80/90 mph occasionally?

I have no choice but to ride 55 to 65 mph most of the time to not get ran over. A nice 35 mph gives you a little more time to look around. I have had my ryker doing 96 mph but really don't feel safe at that speed as there are to many things that go go wrong in a hurry. I wrecked 2 motorcycles...

How do I retrieve codes on the Ryker

I have not tried this with transmission "needs service needs service" yet, but if it ever stops raining now I will give it a try. I am looking at how to turn it off without going to my dealer whom I not not trust. To bad my OBD2 won't work.

New plugs gapped at .029 have improved gas mileage

We are the same age, most of the time I ride like a senior but sometimes the crazy teenager comes out and I can't seem to stop him.

I don't know the gap, but I had to open to get to .029

New plugs gapped at .029 have improved gas mileage

Since I got my Ryker last February the mileage has been all over the place. When I put in new plugs (oem) and gapped them at .029 I noticed a little more power as I left my driveway. I have done my own tunes for around 50 years, I never expect any improvement just to keep the norm. So i was...

Ryker Engine Oil Level Check, Gearbox Oil Check Gauge

Yes you could check that way but for me it would be pointless as it is not correct. Mine didn't need any oil the last 6,000 miles between oil changes. I only check it about once a month now. I do clean my mirrors and take a quick look at the tires every time I ride. And with cold temperatures I...

What Did You Do To Your RYKER Today?

I rode for about 2 hours today. I can dress for the 40's but not much below that. I plan on riding year around as long as it's not raining or freezing. Why have fun only in the summer?

12,000 mile service less cvt belt under $60.00 do it yourself

It seems to me any decent cvt belt should last at least 24,000 miles, but I may be proved wrong. I might be taking a risk but I will take the chance.

12,000 mile service less cvt belt under $60.00 do it yourself

Yes I agree these are way different than most bikes. The first time I do a job takes a little time, after it is done once it becomes more easy for me. But on some newer motorcycles you have to pull the gas tank and more just to change plugs.

12,000 mile service less cvt belt under $60.00 do it yourself

I am only 67, a young man compared to you, congrats. Things where a lot more simple to work on years ago, weren't they?

12,000 mile service less cvt belt under $60.00 do it yourself

So spark plugs air filters engine oil and filter, final drive oil, gear box oil plus a long set of ball end hex wrenches for final cost me less than $60. If your able to do it yourself you can save a lot of money and have the satisfaction of doing it yourself. I had also bought this wrench...

    Changing plugs-coil clip?

Well there done! my biggest issue my big hands are not good at getting into small places. There is just a tiny ear that holds the clip from moving. Next time I can do it in less than the hour and 15 minutes. The first time I do a project is a learning time. The plug under the frame was was...

    Changing plugs-coil clip?

Thanks guys, I will try a screwdriver. I tried pushing with my big old fingers but it will probably take something smaller. I wanted to check with someone who has got one off first. I could see myself standing there with a broken clip that I would have a hard time replacing.:banghead:

    Changing plugs-coil clip?

The white clip that attaches to the coil and boot is what I am having problems with. There is not much slack and I am afraid if I start twisting the boot with removing the clip I will break a wire. Some coils have a red clip that is easy to move and then pull the clip off. I tried pushing down...

    Another wheel fell off...

I bought mine 900 on feb 7. I have hit I don't even know how many bad bumps. Mine seem fine so I agree it might just be a few of them, not good if your one of them though. I pulled a wheel a few months back and as I recall the nut was quite heavy- maybe solid. At any rate that should have never...
