• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Helmets?????????

I just have to ask....why does each and every single Spyder ryder I have seen so far, use a full face helmet? As a long time 2 wheeler with both full face (sports bikes) and shorty helmets for all of the cruisers, I have yet to see a Spyder rider with a shorty.... Can some of the experienced...

I'm seeing that :spyder2: ryders are my kind of folk! I mentioned the Royal Enfield as I have been tracking them going into business and out of business just about once a decade since I started riding....another little classic is the 1982 Yamaha RD350. JR

That's sort of what I figured would/will happen....the extra cost for insurance and bike sitting there getting older won't make it any easier to tell - I may just work the bike into the trade and if I miss 2 wheels, I can always get myself one of the classics I've been thinking of for years like...

I've jump started my fatboy a few times over the years....but always after finding a decent incline either in a parking lot or street. Wouldn't even attempt it on a level road......

I may just have to figure out how to get the dog to go riding will me. As a pup he sat in the saddlebag but now at 75lbs even the Spyder bags won't hold him.

That's very true as far as being only able to make it as difficult as possible. They steal high end cars daily so when there is enough determination there will always be a way.

Now I'm looking at how I can incorporate a business trip to Montreal to visit Mirabel. You're right, a $250 investment is money earned either way.......

I don't know what a Trunk Monkey is but I do know that deterrents do discourage opportunistic punks. I'm thinking etching parts with an ID tag may be a good thing as it will render the parts useless for the used parts market.

I guess thieves don't associate Spyder riders as they would someone riding a Harley....to me, pain is pain, don't mess with someone's machine.

When I do buy one, a first chore will be to adapt some of the lessons learned from riding a custom motorcycle.....for anyone now curious - secondary bypass for the ignition, disk locks and even a proximity tamper alarm....

Surfin' around reading some of the posts as I make a decision to become a Spyder owner, I was reading about a theft in QC, although I know it happens everywhere... My question is, aside for serial numbers on the frame and motor, has any aftermarket start ups been addressing this niche market or...

    Unhappy Spyderlover

As a Canadian who has ridden motorcycles extensively throughout Canada and 40+ States. please don't judge all of Canada by any experience you had in Quebec...I'm not going to bash Quebec but there's a reason why they have been going through decades of wanting to separate from Canada. Anything...

    Whew! Avoided Disaster; I Think!

So what I'm reading here (as a curious future owner) is that I should keep in mind to revert back to my early days of riding Harley to carry tools, and do what I do now - circle checks (pre/post) :D

Do I Want To Buy 2012 RT Limited?

Funny you would mention December 21st....part of me says, get one with lowest possible down payment and like the hell out of it until the 21st... flip side is to wait until the spring and use that down payment $$$ for some prepping... ;) if nothing happens, refinance, etc....I have seen some...

Do I Want To Buy 2012 RT Limited?

I've been asking myself the exact same questions....the greatest deal in the world is not a deal at all when it's in the shop or you have concerns about going on a decent ride because of the likelihood of being stranded...

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for, the good, the bad and the ugly....a sales person will tell you what will close the deal - unlike motorcycles where just about everyone has owned one or knows people who do, :spyder2: owners are still a minority but growing.... my wife also refuses...
