• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2016 Spyder F3-T

I believe you will find it in a space between what the factory calls a skid plate and the surface you see when looking through the front grill. If I remember correctly, the space is less than 2 inches tall, but it goes the full width between the radiators and about 14 to 16 inches front to back...

Spyder RT or F3 for a new, senior, petite, female rider?

I would also recommend the RT. The U-Fit system for the F3 is great but once you get it adjusted for you, it may not be comfortable for your wife and vice versa. It's not something you can do along side the road or in a parking lot when you switch riders. H2O

Probing the "all knowing" enabled forum

I agree with the others that the F3 deserves a look, and you should look at Lamonster's RIP floorboards for the F3. They would allow you move your feet back and forth quite a bit to find a comfortable position. H2O

    RTL Mirror squeaking

One other thing to look at would be "rubbed" places on any of the plastic where the mirror pieces mate with the fairing. It could be plastic-to-plastic making the squeaks. H2O

I can relate to this! You?

In relation to Murphy's Law, I read something very similar to this as being one of Murphy's Axioms of auto repair - the bolt, nut, washer or tool you drop will find it's way to the geographical center under the vehicle. H2O

    Shorter-reach bars

Be careful rotating the bars down. When turning to full left lock, switch housing may hit the body above the gas tank. H2O

Looking for Columbus OH Spyder service center recommendations

When I was first looking at Spyders in 2014, I swore I would never set foot in an ASK dealership based on a bad experience several years ago with a new 2003 Kawasaki Nomad. Went to Johnny K's in Lodi, had a great sales experience. Went there again in June this year to buy an F3 Ltd. for the wife...

    F3 brake link rod mod

I looked at using the adjustment rod but after reviewing the shop manual, it appeared that adjustment was intended to be a fixed distance, and if I remember correctly, there was a special tool/gauge used to set that distance. Needless to say, I decided not to mess with that. Sorry, I did not...

    F3 brake link rod mod

Disclaimer: These are not instructions to perform your own modification; if you do it in spite of this caution, I will not be held responsible if something bad happens. My wife recently became the proud owner of her own Spyder, an F3 Ltd. For her to be comfortable, the floorboards are back in...

    Broken trailer hitch

It appears the boomerang shaped piece with the hitch ball is thicker material and the formed side pieces are thinner material. In a weld like this, proper control of the amount of heat being applied to the thinner material is very important as the heat affected zone in the thinner material can...

No purple duct tape with black spyders for me this year at Spyderfest

The base color is nice, but the pinstripes are great! Very tasteful and not over done. John

    trailering a spyder

As impatient as I am, I never waited that long to see if it would quit on its own. I couldn't stand the noise so I turned the key back to the on position while I was doing whatever it was I was doing at the time. H2O

    trailering a spyder

On my 2014 RTS - SE6, there is a warning chime if you shut off the key with the parking brake off. If a person wanted to trailer without the parking brake, they would need to disconnect the battery to silence the chime. H2O

    2014RT BRP backrest adjustment ????

Maybe BRP has changed the bracket, but mine is definitely 2 pieces. One is the flat piece that bolts to the seat pan, and the other is a vertical piece that is bolted on top of the flat bracket. The backrest "rods" insert into the vertical piece. H2O

    2014RT BRP backrest adjustment ????

If you look at the bracket, it's two pieces bolted together. Rather than adding washers where the bracket bolts to the bottom of the seat, I took the bracket apart and added washers between the two parts of the bracket. If I remember correctly, I added 6 very thin stainless steel washers (3 on...

    Definition of Brand New

Thanks to all who stayed on subject and I agree with the comment that brand new is virgin, never installed condition. That was not the case here. The seller has not and I do not expect him to reply to my PM. As far as giving him time, he was online when I sent the PM and the message notification...

    Definition of Brand New

I recently purchased an item from a Spyderlovers member which he advertised on this forum as "Brand New". When I received the item, there were obvious bug splatters on it and it was easy to see where the mounting screws had left circular marks/depressions in their pockets. I sent a PM to the...

    RT Windshield Trim Pieces

The two plastic windshield trim pieces that are chrome or silver - I have seen photos of some Spyderlovers' RTs that had black trim pieces. Were these painted by the owners or was this a factory stock color in previous model years? If this was a factory item in black, does anyone have the part...

New Toy Hauler for Darth & Psycho

Phil, the Tundra should have the necessary wiring in place for the brake controller, all that's needed is the short sub-harness to hook the actual brake controller to a plug under the dash. That sub-harness should be in a plastic bag in the glove box. John
