• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    DIY tire replacement

Has anyone had first hand experience using a Harbor Freight manual tire changer to remove and replace tires on their Spyder wheels? If so, did you have any problems? Thanks. H2O

    Custom fitting of helmet

I know there will be people who wag their fingers and say I'm committing some sin against the helmet gods, that's OK, it's my head not theirs. I cut out a circular section of the Styrofoam for the speakers to sit in. They are then underneath the soft liner in the ear cavities. No pressure on the...

    OEM Backrest adjustment???

Remove the part that captures the backrest forks. There are 4 screws that hold it on. Get some small stainless steel flat washers to fit the screw diameter and use 2 or 3 on each of the back or front screws to angle the part to your satisfaction. It may take a few tries but it works great. H2O

    Installing Mods tonight!

The dealer in Springfield started selling Spyders in late 2013 or early 2014. I tried to get their best price on a 2014 RT-S SE6 with no trade and they were just barely below list price. Don't know about their service but they sell several brands and it makes me wonder how many of their techs...

    Installing Mods tonight!

If the dealer you are talking about begins with an A and ends with a K with an S in the middle, I think some people have been OK with them but I would never deal with them due to a really bad experience many years ago. I went north on I-71 to Johnny K's at Burbank to buy my RT and my wife's F3...

    Two things

Before buying a license plate frame, verify your state's plate size is a standard size. When we first moved to Ohio over 25 years ago, their bike plate size was nonstandard but they eventually changed it. H2O

Shake... Rattle.... and thankfully no roll.

It may be a shot in the dark, but check the swingarm pivot for excess play. H2O

    F3 S Foot brake position.

The easiest method I found for my wife's F3 Ltd. was to cut the brake link rod, which is actually a small diameter pipe. It has 1/4" ID. After getting the pedal height where she was comfortable and ensuring she would not run out of brake throw for an emergency stop, I inserted a 1/4" solid steel...

    Damn battery bolt kit

While it is probably easier to just get a new bolt, if you want to find the old one, look in the dead space between the factory skid plate and the bottom of the air scoop chamber you see through the front grill. You have to remove the grill and you may be able to flex the plastic enough to shine...

Wanting to ride the Blue ridge.

My wife and I rode our Spyders on the Southern half of the Blue Ridge last September. We got on at Fancy Gap and the first 30-40 miles, the road was pretty rough with pot holes and dips at every drainage culvert. They were repaving parts of it further down the road but that section was in bad...

    F3T Panel Removal

Break pedal on 2016 F3 LTD

If you know someone who can weld, the brake link rod can be cut, shortened, and rewelded. The rod is actually a tube. I describe the process I used for my wife's F3 Limited here http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?95898-F3-brake-link-rod-mod H2O

    Most powerful Rotax engine

221 kW converts to 296 "standard" HP, and the 300 metric HP multiplied by 0.9863 equals 296 "standard" HP. I guess metric horses are about 2% smaller than U.S. horses :D. H2O

    Comfort Seat

Check the part numbers you need on Ebay. Most of the seats and backrests are retail price but some are discounted a few dollars. I found a good deal for a new, old stock comfort seat at a dealer; got a charcoal gray seat for my 2014 RT-S for $425. If I remember correctly, they were asking $600...

May the Power be with you

One other possibility - if there is a light bulb in the stall take it out, screw in an adapter with a female receptacle in the side and a lamp base socket on the end, reinstall the light bulb and run an extension cord down to power the battery tender. Since the light is probably on a switch or...

Asking a favor concerning BRP driver's backrest for RT Comfort Seat

Thanks for checking. I know the baseplate that bolts to the bottom of the seat is different between the two styles of backrests. I was speculating the legs would be shorter on the Comfort Seat backrest because it appears the Comfort Seat is not quite as thick as the production seat where the...

Asking a favor concerning BRP driver's backrest for RT Comfort Seat

I'm looking for a measurement of the length of the "legs" on a BRP RT Comfort Seat driver's backrest. I have the backrest for the production or stock seat and the measurement on that one is 6.5 inches from the end of the "legs" to the U-shaped crotch. I suspect the Comfort Seat backrest legs are...

TriAX handles bar middle mounting screw help

IdahoMtnSpyder has it right at 6mm x 1.0. I had just checked the size on mine yesterday to install a Ram Mount ball.
