• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Dealer Hitch Install

My dealer quoted me $597 parts and labor to install a BRP hitch and wiring kit. That seems like a lot but I would probably spend two days (or more) designing , building and installing one that might not be as good as the factory hitch. I think I'll go dealer install on this one. BTW, the...

New RT owner - from Australia

We lived in Penrith for five years. We loved our time down under. Raced at Oran Park or Amaroo nearly every weekend. I understand that both of those tracks are gone now...victim to housing developments. Amaroo was great with a road course, hill climb, skidpan and dirt circuit. Great...

    Uncomfortable cornering

Exactly! And the brain also does a good job of dealing with problems that require fast and correct actions...especially if the brain is well practiced. After years of such practice...I have a really hard time turning these decisions over to a machine that is proven to fail on occasions. But...

    Uncomfortable cornering

Nothing you can say will change my mind about computers in vehicles and equipment. I really like riding the Spyder AND my John Deere 110 backhoe. But I hate their expensive and unreliable computers. End of this coversation please?

    Uncomfortable cornering

If I had known of all of the computer control and DESS problems before hand, I may not have bought it. But that is simply because I did not find the bad press in time. I should have looked harder I suppose. Now that I've changed the sway bar and had a seat cushion made I really like riding...

    Camera Advice

After watching video, it looks like bike mounted is better than helmet mounted. I used wide angle lens for skydiving video but doubt that my lens would fit these new cameras. May not be better anyway. I'll shoot some with my old gear just to compare.

    Eliminating "NANNY"

Generally speaking; I also agree...but let it be my choice! Then let my skill and Darwin and Murphy be in charge. Why do some people feel the need to tell other people whats risks they are ALLOWED to take? A skydiver recently jumped out without a parachute, was handed one by another jumper...

    Camera Advice

I have a camera mounted helmet but it is old, heavy technology and I'd like to update to a better, lighter system. I've always built my own mounting hardware and will probably do the same with this one. I may just try to move the mount from my skydiving helmet if it will work. I see a lot of...

things I would like to see on RT

I wonder what percentage of owners are changing the sway bar? Why not make it an option. It can't cost much more to increase the diameter. Same with the exhaust tone.

    Uncomfortable cornering

As many have indicated, cornering on the Spyder is getting easier with practice. But my attitude toward the computer has not changed. I've chosen to spend my life racing fast cars, jumping out of planes, sailing boats under black clouds in high winds and riding motorcycles all without reliance...

    Building a trailer?

Harbor Freight "stuff" tends to be built very light weight. It may be OK but I know the one that I build will be OK. I do like the looks of the Carrier but I don't see that I can buy just the carrier. I'm tending toward a pretty wood sided box and weather proof action packers.

    Building a trailer?

Thanks for the Post Wes. This has given me real food for thought. I had considered carrying a tent but had not considered being able to set it up on the trailer. It would force the trailer to be wide tho' ? Building a trailer with sides and carrying action packers is sounding better all the...

    Building a trailer?

Not a bad choice, but mine will be substantially lighter and I already have most of the materials on hand.

    Building a trailer?

I have an old carrier box that I may use until I can find one that looks a little better. I could design and lay one up using fiberglass...but that is way more work than i want to do. We'd like to take some long trips before the snow flies and a trailer is really needed for that. So even a...

    Building a trailer?

The box they use would work great for me. But I can not find just the box for sale and their completed trailer is $1200. That's why I want to build my own.

    Building a trailer?

Hey JC, thanks for your post. That looks like a pretty sturdy carrier and about what I'm looking for. I have not seen that one on my internet search so far. Amazon has several listed but the one I liked got really bad reviews.

    Building a trailer?

Actually $78 plus shipping for spindles, hubs and springs. I'll use a 1 1/2" aluminum sch 40 pipe for the axle with the stub axles machined to fit and bolted in. Also drill out the big end of the stub axle to 1/4" wall to remove excess weight. I already have all of these parts on hand...so it...
