• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Installed Hitch Today

I wrapped the spacers with masking tape...but the tape may dry out and shrink overtime which may allow them to move. Maybe not a problem tho'. I have not read the instructions for the wiring yet. I hope it's an easy install. :dontknow: I'ml going to build the trailer soon. I have not got...

    Installed Hitch Today

I installed the Big Bike Parts trailer hitch today. Good fit and easy to install. I was just wondering why the directions say to lower the brake cylinder out of the way? Maybe to make tightening the set screw easier? I did not lower it and it was easy to get to the screw...so? The powder...

    Trailering the RT

Now that I look at yours, Marie, making it low with a flat bed is a really good idea. Changing plans now.

    Trailering the RT

I trailered the RT about 215 miles this week on a 7'x 14' utility trailer and I had to use ramps and it was a little awkward to load and tie down. I can make it a little easier to tie down but there is no way around the ramps unless I put a 4' tall fold down ramp on the back. I'm thinking of...

Pulling The BBQ to the reunion.

There are hundreds of miles of secondary mountain roads around the Moorefield, WV area and we traveled about 150 miles a day for four days. We could only run about 30 mph on average but it was great scenery and mainly good to fair blacktop surface. We got stuck on one rock base for about 5...

Pulling The BBQ to the reunion.

Well time to fess up, guess I didn't pull the wool over anyone's eyes. Here is actually how the Spyder is going to the reunion. I think 100 lbs of tongue weight and 2000 lb trailer weight might be a bit much for the Spyder. The briskets are done and sliced and the BBQ pit will...

Pulling The BBQ to the reunion.

Note the For Sale sign on the BBQ. I built it last winter because I could not find a family BBQ that I could borrow that would cook large hunks of meat at the proper temp. But I now find that I would like room for a sink, cooler and larger cutting table. So I have to sell this one and build...

Pulling The BBQ to the reunion.

That is some great fabrication work! I never strive for that level of perfection. Too many hours! That must be goose neck type hookup with that much tongue weight.

Pulling The BBQ to the reunion.

Here is the Spyder hooked up to my Texas Style BBQ. It did fine around here but I wonder how it will be when we get into the really steep mountains. What tongue weight can the Spyder handle? I've got 2 good hunks of meat on there...be done around 8:00 this evening.

    Four Days of mountain Roads

If you can find the Weaver Camp on Yukon Drive along the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac...Come on by for a taste of about the best brisket not cooked in Texas... but cooked by a guy that learned to cook it in Texas.

    Four Days of mountain Roads

Today we are loading the camper onto the pickup, fabing a ramp onto the trailer for the Spyder and seasoning two briskets. Tomorrow we'l smoke the briskets and load the Spyder on the trailer. Leave at 6 AM Thur for the mountains (it's not like we don't live in the mountains already) and be...

    Four Days of mountain Roads

My family has a four day reunion at a family camp located on a fast mountain stream in WV. I've printed out maps and we' ll spend a good portion of each day running the Spyder around these hilly roads. I can hardly wait. We also have to join in the horseshoes, corn hole. vollyball, card...

    Dealer Hitch Install

I should have no problems doing the install...it's just being sure that I have the right parts and wiring harness. The dealer says that the OEM wiring has 2 electronic modules that "talk" to the bike. I just want to be sure that the aftermarket kit speaks the same language. I ordered the...

And the plot thickens! After market price for the wiring/ module $85. Dealer claims 2 modules and wiring harness needed @ $291 PLUS the hitch hardware or $458 for the complete kit that includes hitch hardware, modules and wiring. If the $85 aftermarket wiring harness includes modules and...

Yep, hitch, wiring and labor. He recons 1 1/2 hours labor. I'll get it put on when I take the bike for the 3000 mile service about a month from now. He is charging me $458 for the hitch kit.
