• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Best tire replacement

I will wear out the original tires the summer and I want to get a new set on hand. There is probably a thread on what the best replacement is. Any opinions? My bike is an RTS.

    modifying the 2014 muffler?

Has anyone tried modifying the stock muffler to reduce back pressure and make it sound like a real motorcycle. ;) I was about ready to pull the back off and see what can be done. This may require a re-jetting tho' Looking for info from anyone that's done it.

    Oil change Kit

I just got the first service done on the 2014 Spyder RT. I bought an oil change kit so that I could do the next change myself and save the 200 mile round trip to the dealer. To my surprise the kit was $93 with tax. Seems a lot for a filter and a few bottles of oil. A rat had built a nest on...

    Riding tomorrow Brrrrr!

It was great riding yesterday. Good thing...it's rainy and cold today. We went to a local (25 miles) Gold Wing Trike club meeting last evening. Lot's of other bike owners in the club. Lots of activates AND lots of Gray hair members. We are considering joining mainly for the local rides and...

    Riding tomorrow Brrrrr!

We are planning to attend a trike club meeting tomorrow evening. It's about a 25 mile one way ride. The temp will be about 60 going and 50 coming back. It's been a long time since I did any cold weather riding and I'm not sure how tough we are in our old age. I rode my bike all winter in W...

BIKE WEEK DAYTONA BEACH MAR4th-13th 2016.

OK Quinton & Sarah are booked in at the Country Inn for the 9th thru the 13 of March. It's a 12 hour drive for us...so we plan to arrive on the evening of the 9th so that we can get a good nights sleep before the start of things on the 10th. We have decided to trailer the Spyder. Just too...

OFFICIAL SPYDERFEST POST -- FROM MOGANG

OK, I'm a newbe...but where in the H do I find info on Spyderfest. Where is it...when is it, WHAT is it and how to register. Shouldn't info be easy to find? I see the post OFFICIAL SPYDERFEST POST...but it does not give me any of that info. I'd maybe like to go but I'd like to know something...

BIKE WEEK DAYTONA BEACH MAR4th-13th 2016.

We are considering going and will decide and book a room today. It's an 800 mile trip from Weston,WV for us and we would like to plan some other activities while on this trip. Any suggestions. I don't think we want to iron butt the 800 miles so we will want to stop overnight along the way...

    BajaRon's Sway-bar

To me...it made "some" difference and was worth the time spent to do it, but it was not a complete change in ride characteristics. Time and practice are the best cure for sway uneasiness in MHO.

Are you still riding in the Northeast?

It was over 60 deg yesterday and we had thought about riding the Spyder to Grandma's for Thanksgiving dinner but the food would just not fit. Ah well!

    All the leaves are gone.

It was a beautiful warm fall day to ride today and we found some great mountain roads...but the trees are bare now. Still fun, but the magic was not there as it was a week ago. The Spyder will spend most of it's time indoors for the next few months. Really glad we got a good one in today...

    Harmonic Belt Vibration Gone!

Is this a common problem to all belt drives. i,e., do Harleys do this? I've noticed a small vibration in my 2014 RT but I will have to check more closely to pin down the exact rpm where it occurs.

    Dual purpose trailer

While working on a trailer design for the spyder, considered making it so that I could also load the Spyder onto the the trailer when I want to tow it somewhere. Maybe too heavy...but lines on "paper" cost nothing but time and computer memory. I already own 14 trailers...don't need two more.

    Missed the brake, almost crashed.

A hand brake is on my list of winter projects but I'm getting pretty comfortable with the foot brake now and just missed it this time.

    Missed the brake, almost crashed.

My added seat cushion made it easier to get my foot on the brake but I still missed it as I was approached a stopped school bus. It took a few seconds to get my foot back up and on the brake pedal and I pulled out to the other lane to keep from hitting the bus. I know it pissed the bus driver...

Winter riding on the new Spyder

My high school age cousin came to stay with us and had to ride with me to her school. We tried to convince her to wear slacks for the 17 mile 18 deg. ride but no amount warning would get her to change out of her mini skirt. When we left the interstate 16 miles later she was saying over and...
