• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Sheepskin?

Misty Mountain Got sheepskin covers for both Queen B's Spyder and my V-Star from Misty Mountain. Love them. Both of ours are dyed, mine black tipped silver, hers pure black: no problem with bleeding out to clothing. Great vendor, works with you to get just the right fit. Guarantees his...

    angel eyes install

On Queen B's 2008 GS I wired the Angel Eyes and super-Bright white LED strips to the switched acsessory circuit plus added a switch to the dash. They are normally left on when riding. Note: on the '08 the switched acsessory circuit has a delayed shut down.

    4th vs. 5th gear discussion

I agree. Don't have the luxury of a tach on my Star 950-T so have the habit of shifting by engine sound. Do the same when I am allowed to ride Queen B's Spyder. Whether on two or three keep my eyes on the road and 'cagers' ahead of me not on wht the engine revs are. As others in this thread...

TOTALLY CLUELESS AND IN THE DARK TO BOOT

Garmin Nuvii 50 LM I use a $130 Garmin Nuvii 50 on my ride. Not weatherproof or motorcycle specific but I can a ziplock bag does a good job of waterproofing for those quick showers. Easy to remove from the cradle and put in saddlebag or frunk in 'frog choker ' rain. Works good for me without...

Which Motor Oil Do You Use In Your Spyder?

Worrk in Wal-Mart auto dept. and have never seen "Wal-Mart" MC oil. I purchase 10-40 Valvoline 4T Full Synthetic Motorcyle oil at Wal-Mart for the Spyder. Just after we got the Spyder and I joined the forum I saw a thread on oil the linked to an Amsoil test of MC oil. Valvoline 4T was rated...

    What's the real capacity

Judge our fuel stops more on saddle miles than fuel consumption. Usually everyone in our group is ready for a stop somewhere around 100 mi. So we're usually looking for fuel and a stretch. Never have been fond of testing fuel capacity to the limit.

    Help with rear Brake Pads

Lamonter, Thanks for jogging this old guy's memory. Rmembered I did, in fact, turn down the adjustment on the parking brake. After dinner, a beer and a good nights sleep I tackled the new pads again after loosening the parking brake shaft. Slipped them on with no problem.;);) Got them on put...

Adventures in tire replacement and now how do I tension the belt?

Changed tire on my wife's 08 GS today using Lamonster's technique. When I reattached the shock I slowly lowered the Spyder until the holes on the shock and the bracket were aligned No need for any compression tools. I am using beads to balance both wheels of my V-Star 950 Tourer and they work...
