• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 Spyder RS - ST Handlebar Swap

I also have a SM5 and I had no issue with wires or clutch hydrolic line. Everything fits like it was designed to have the ST bars from the factory. The most difficult thing about the install was putting the left side plastic cover ( goes on the underside of the handlebar) back on. It wasn't bad...

2013 Spyder RS - ST Handlebar Swap

Thanks, I like the look too. I finally got the pictures to upload to the thread. However it would only let me put up to 5 pictures on it. It's a pretty easy mod if you have much mechanical ability. There are only a couple of things that I stumbled across that would hold a person up from doing...

thinking of getting a 2013 rs need info ---- new to the spyder

The handlebars to use for the swap are from a ST. You can buy the parts new for around $200, which is less then a spacer would be and it keeps the stock look. As for the pegs, I would add highway pegs so that you have options while riding. It really makes it nice to ba able to change foot...

    Risers for 2013 rs

I thought the black would look good and it does. It kind of changed the look of the Spyder (in a good way). I think they are going to work out really well. If you stumble across anyone that wants to do a ST - RS handlebar swap like you did let me know. I will sell my RS bars.

    Risers for 2013 rs

I was thinking that you said you struggled with that part. Once you remove the rubber boot it has three clips that you can push in with one hand and pull the plug out of the switch.

thinking of getting a 2013 rs need info ---- new to the spyder

Buy the Spyder RS and you will not regret it. I bought my 2013 RS in June and put almost 3000 miles on it. I have added highway pegs so that I have two different foot positions (one for in town, one for highway). I also just replaced the stock handlebars with a the handlebars from a 2013 Spyder...

    Risers for 2013 rs

I did my RS - ST handlebar swap today. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to do including pictures. I will post a DIY thread on this a little later tonight.

    Risers for 2013 rs

I actually bought them from a member on SpyderLovers. He has an ST and wanted to lower his bars, so he put RS bars on his ST. You can buy all the parts new from BRP for around $200. I will take pictures and document as I go.

    Risers for 2013 rs

I have made my own highway pegs, speakers and I bought a HMF exhaust. Now I'm going to do the St bar swap. Also if you have a 2013 RS SM5 and want a cruise control, I think I just found one. Kaoko makes a throttle assist for the 2013 ST and it's part number is CAN200. Everything I see says it...

    Risers for 2013 rs

I have not found any risers for my 2013 yet. I will have a set of ST bars in my hands tomorrow for my conversion. If anyone is interested I can try to make a step by step on how to do the conversion. It doesn't look to be that difficult to me if your mechanical.

    ONLY IN CALIFORNIA - DMV!!!

I'm thankful I don't have to deal with the California DMV anymore!!! They are a real pain in the a$$! I know this thread was started a long time ago, but I think it's funny that they are sticklers on this "law". In California you can take the drivers written test in like 7 different languages...

RS SM5 won't shift - lost hydraulic pressure?? Anyone else?

I haven't checked the fluid yet, but I did not see any fluid on the floor. I figured I would check the fluid tomorrow. I was more wondering if anyone else has had this issue, but thanks for the good feedback.

RS SM5 won't shift - lost hydraulic pressure?? Anyone else?

I have a 2013 RS SM5 that has not been started for about a month. Today I started it, let it run for about a minute and pulled in the clutch to shift into 1st gear. It would not shift. I tried again and it made a grinding gear noise. Then I pumped the clutch lever and it clunked into gear and I...

A message to Fun Bike Center sent on their FB site

I moved from San Diego about 6 years ago and their service was the same then too. It's really a shame because they have a nice store and could do way more business if they would train their employees a little better (or at all).
