• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    DPS..has it been fixed

Trying to keep my bike from locking up the steering and veering into oncoming traffic last week as I tried to get home was an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. There were no road shoulders or any places to pull over. Both BRP and my dealer were on the phone with me immediately after this...

    Bummed--steering issues @ 2090 miles

No offense to anyone, but there are others who have taken the similar stance that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. While the update is supposed to fix problems, for many it has not and for yet others, it has caused problems that originally didn't exist. Then there are those that have no...

    Bummed--steering issues @ 2090 miles

I've called the dealer and they are going to come pick up the bike. They have sold over 25 bikes since becoming a dealer and claim there have been no problems with bikes they have updated. I don't have a high level of confidence about software updates at this point but they think this will fix...

    Bummed--steering issues @ 2090 miles

It's in the lower 50's today, figured I'd ride up to the drugstore. About half way there at 45mph the steering locks up and starts pulling slightly to the left. No warnings on the dash so I don't think it is fuses. This happened 4 times in about 12 miles. A slight tug puts it back at dead center...

Update & 2nd Update issue; Steering LockUp WHILE going 70mph

Is there some pattern of consistency going on here?

    Battery tender? Looking for recommended

I ordered the Xtreme charger and it showed up today. It is the yellow one for motorcycles. I haven't tried it yet but it looks to be very heavy duty and the bottom of the case is rubber so it won't scoot around on the floor. Five year warranty. Hate to say it Scotty, but the box says Made in...

    Winterizing questions

I bought my Spyder in late March so I really haven't been through the winter storage cycle yet. While I hope there is still some riding time left for the year here in the midwest, I'm afraid the cold blast may be here sooner than later. Two questions-- --Once the brutal weather gets here and...

    Ride and/or Fly.

Ran across this the other day. Might be a tad unstable at low speed?

    New Machine Jitters

I had all of your concerns when I made the decision to buy one early this spring. You can either worry or you can ride--it comes down to that. This board is a great place to get educated before you make the decision and it documents the very best and very worst the Spyder can be for people. But...

GOT BRP TO SEND ME A NEW MOTOR

Considering your short term of ownership I would have expected nothing less than a new motor, and maybe a loaner as you wait for this to play out...

    Updated software download

Can someone confirm that by disconnecting the battery and resetting the computer, the sputtering problem goes away? If so, BRP should amend the procedure and make it part of the recall so that ya leave the dealer with a properly running bike that is reset for the apparent lean adjustment. If...

Another take on the trike concept.

Excuse me but I think your motor is tailgating you...

    Am I losing My Mind?

I too am trying to figure out if there is some common link to why some folks have a successful steering upgrade while others end up with new problems. As stated on another thread, there are many variables that make the common link difficult to nail down. It also seems like the degradation of...

How about a poll for the steering recall?

My Spyder has about 1200 miles. It runs great; the engine is starting to loosen up, and luckily I've not had any other problems except for the belt alignment. I have not done the steering recall yet but have read some very mixed reviews about how it ultimately affects the performance of the...

    GIVI Windshield

Have never had much luck uploading to this board but here goes... I bought the bike about two years ago. It runs (and sounds) like a sewing machine but it looked terrible. I spent two months cleaning it and replacing a few parts; redid the saddlebags. I used Bleech White and a toothbrush to...

    GIVI Windshield

I'm about 5'8" and the Givi has been a good alternative to the stock shield for me. But I just upgraded to the BRP comfort seat which must be just a little taller--just enough to put a bit more of the top of my helmet into the wind and create a little more wind noise. Hopefully the seat foam...

    Handlebar Grip Vibration

Do you have risers? I find some of the numbness is due to the stock bars being too low, causing a lot of my upper body weight to transfer to the palms of my hands. I'll be adding risers on my next dealer visit. I found some gloves that have more palm padding and that has helped some. I also...

    Comfort seat questions

An update..I purchased the comfort seat and installed it yesterday. The materials on the seat are first rate; the "sticky" vinyl has an embossed pattern and is only on the lower sides of the seat making it functional. The stock seat vinyl just didn't cut it for my dusty situation. The new seat...

    seat opener mechanism?

I just went through the process of adjusting the stud assembly on the bottom of the seat. Installing a comfort seat means having to remove and then reinstall and adjust the stud assembly on the new seat. You might have a weak latch spring but if not.... To get the latch to work, I had to...
