• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Parking brake light comes on & brakes lock up - UPDATE!

How can I order parts directly from Cam Am and not the dealer? I am capable of doing the replacement and maybe save some money, or keep using the wood block and forget about it. I am very disgusted with Cam Am and the quality of their products. In my previous 2011 RT the engine self-destroyed...

Parking brake light comes on & brakes lock up - UPDATE!

Update of the Parking Brake Issue Today I visited the RIDENOW Powersports Dealerships (2) in our area of Central Texas to get more info on the cost of repairing the issue with the Stuck Parking Brake on my 2019 CanAm Spyder RT. First, the Spyder is out of Warranty so you are on your own for...

Parking brake light comes on & brakes lock up - UPDATE!

On my 2018 RT, the Parking/E brake started locking up and not releasing. The last time, I could not make it release under any circumstances. Got a 12 mm wrench, removed the brake cable, and I was able to drive it home. I lubricated the cable and it worked again a couple of times correctly, but...

Which Deceleration module/brake light flasher do you recommend?

Late to this question but....... Has anyone installed the ST2 Brake Module from www.st2-systems.com ?? It is a Motion sensor technology used to detect deceleration on the bike and therefore blinks the brake lights on your motorcycle. Since, the wiring on Spyders is delicate and I don't want to...

Front end wobble issue. Please help!

Has anyone mentioned checking the tire pressure? When I purchased a USED 2011 Rt from a "dealer" in DFW the two front tires were underinflated to something like 10 psi. The thing was shaking like crazy during the test drive but It was my first time riding a Spyder and I was thinking that was...

Floorboard 'Drop Away' & Brake Failure causes?

Actually, I realize this is a 2013 actually not a 2008. I guess that I did not explained the hitting the ground issue. It looks this lady has dirven her Spyder on rocks or pavement that actually touched the lever for the floor release. I can see the scrath mark from the payment and under those...

Floorboard 'Drop Away' & Brake Failure causes?

Question on the floorboard latch. What was the original #BRP reason for that sytem? Were they concerned that the brakes will fail regularly that this system would be activated and therefore was required to be there? I noticed that the bottom portion of the latch is longer than neeeds and sticks...

2008 Sypder GS Front Pulley found like this

See this problem twice posted in the last week. Those bolts are not staying in place and the damage can be serious if the interior parts were damage. Good luck. The inside threds may have been deformed with the heat generated by the pulley wobling on the axle for at least 300 miles???? :yikes:

2008 Spyder GS (RS) | Fire Damage

Fire damage Looks like the engine and suspension parts may be of use for someone with asimilar model, Brakes calipers etc. It dependes what the potential buyer may need. Other option is look for a used Motorcycle recycling company they may give you a few dollars to get it out of your hand. If...

    Brake Failure warning

Brake Failure light on I friend's 2013 RSS is showing the Brake failure light on and off front time to time. The right floorboard has dropped down a few times while this takes place under hard braking. I was wondering if the fact that the exhaust is right next to the Master cylider if the heat...

    Spyder Idiosyncrasies.

I use 22psi in the front tires and 28 psi in the rear tire on our 2011 RT with original Kenda tires. (We ride two up - almost to max weight limit of the Spyder) From reading other posts I think you may be holding the steering a little bit too hard. Relax and let the streering do it'is thing...

    Rotate front tires?

Tire Rotating idea If you had the easy way to dismount the tires from the rims or take them to a local tire shop and get the remounted and balanced then it may not not be a bad idea to rotate them every 5000 or so miles depending on your driving. I see many people asking that question after...

Front tire wear on the inner side 2011 RT SE

One video you can watch on you tube by lamonster garage explains the aligment process and interpretation of the result and problems to consider. Very educational (to me at least) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fs8bI3b_BA

Long term results without brake system flush

I am what you consider an "Oldtimer" and in that many years 67 so far never have I replaced the brake fluid in any on my cars or motorcycles just because. The only semi valid reason is if the fluid is somehow got contaminated or has absorved moisture from the air. Unlikely under most normal...

08 Spyder GS SM5 misfire/stumble when riding at steady speed

Just wondering if you did a catalitic converter removal (cat-delete) Some owners do that and that could change the mixture being put into the intake by the computer and injectors since they dont get the same signals originally programed for. Just somethig to consider. not an expert here but a...

    Oil Change - anyone used dip-stick pump/sucker?

"Not cheap, but reasonable to protect a $30,000 machine." Enough said.

    Dealer Rip-off?

I believe the 2014's and up and all the 3 cylinder engines have hydraulic lifters so the valves are not adjustable. Some dealers come with all kind of stuff to make a quick buck. I am glad I have tools and I am not affraid to get dirty and enjoy doing most of the simple stuff. I change my oils...

    Maintenance

Exactly my point and believe. Some owners think that if we are willing to fix Spyders and do basic maintenance we are somehow crazy or imcompetent freaks. Who do they think works at the dealership fixing Spyders some MIT Engineering graduate or some high school drop-out that can barely read a...

    2015 STS-SM5 ... what do I need to know?

Not that unusual to find Spyders with VERY LOW miles. Appears to me that many (several) people buy them on impulse and park them in a garage after a few miles. Either because they get sick (medically) or they were not much into motorcycles to start with. I got a 2011 this year with only 3500...

    2015 STS-SM5 ... what do I need to know?

Both machines are made by the same #BRP company. Snow machines/mobiles were their original design. So the Spyder is basically a Snowmobile with Wheels! I was unde the impression that after 2014 all Spyders had the 1330cc engines. Apparently I am wrong?
