• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Former RS owner, ready to pull trigger on 2013 RT

I've been told via PM that a '14 RT is available in Nashville for $16,999. If there is, I can't find it. Best deal I've been able to find advertised anywhere in the U.S. on a '14 RT-S SE-6 (the '13 I'm looking at is an RT-S SE-5, for comparing apples to apples) is $24,xxx (not including dealer...

Former RS owner, ready to pull trigger on 2013 RT

Thanks for all the responses! I simply don't know what to do. There are NO leftover '14s within a 3-state radius (that I can find), except for RS models. I understand the difference between the twin and the triple, and the associated maintenance costs. $9K under MSRP will buy a lot of services...

Former RS owner, ready to pull trigger on 2013 RT

I can't remember which (entire) leg it was that got baked on the RS. Possibly both. ;) My last long trip on the RS was 4000+ miles in 13 days, to Minnesota and back. About 1400 of those miles were side trips and self-initiated detours. Rode through 100F+ heat for several days, then day after...

Former RS owner, ready to pull trigger on 2013 RT

Likewise, I would not want to *be* that person saddled with one! On the ~50 mile test ride I took, it performed flawlessly, but I realize that could mean nothing in the big picture. I will definitely ask for service records and see if they are comfortable hooking me up with the previous owner's...

Former RS owner, ready to pull trigger on 2013 RT

Thanks for the reply. I should have provided a little more background, huh? Local dealer has no '14s in stock; next nearest dealer is 300+ miles away. I went into this thinking I wanted a '14 ST, but several years ago when I was still on the RS, I was wishing desperately for an RT. Then, lo...

Former RS owner, ready to pull trigger on 2013 RT

Wavey. :) I haven't been around here in a couple of years. After two fabulous years of ryding with the love of my life, he was killed on his (two-wheeled) motorcycle by a drunk driver. :( Couldn't bear to be around motorcycles of any kind for a long while. Time passes, the lure of the wind in...

You heard it here first- BRP Owners Event 2012

Woohoo!!!!! I haven't been around here much lately, but you can tell from where I live that I'm gonna be there! I'm hoping it's not the weekend after Memorial Day (June 1-4), because I have a little m/c event of my own that weekend that will take up all my time and energy. Although I...

Do you ride your Spyder or drive it ???

I'm a cowgirl at heart - you ride horses (on top of them), you drive cattle (behind them).

    Spyder Sightings

First weekend I had mine, we took it out for a two-up ryde (our first two-up) to go to a nearby small town, about 30 miles away, and have lunch. When I say small town, I mean SMALL, as in ~1000 residents. As we approached the restaurant, we both started laughing. We'd been talking the day...

What do/did you do for a living?

My "first career" was in biotechnology patent law for almost 15 years. Before that I had a kazillion different jobs while I was going to college - it was a 13-yr degree program since I had to work and put myself through school. ;) Moved to Colorado when I was 45 and somehow ended up in real...

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

On the first motorcycle forum I belonged to I had the screen name ScreaminMeanie because my bike was a Kawi Mean Streak. Then I started riding Harleys and changed it to MsPotatoPotatoHead. I've had that so long that even though I don't ride Harleys anymore, I just can't change my screen name...

    spyders fly out the door!!!!

I feel lucky to have nabbed a new 2009. If I had waited past the end of March, I'd bet I'd have had to pony up for a 2011. I know my dealer sold two others the same week I bought mine. There were no used deals within 1000 miles of me - I'd been looking for a couple of months and finally gave...

Nanny finally showed up to the party!

I live on a dirt/gravel road that tees into a paved 2-lane highway. When I make a left onto the highway to go into town, I usually have to punch it pretty hard to catch a gap in traffic, so the rear slides out on the dirt/gravel. So far, I haven't felt Nanny kick in, but it's only maybe half a...

    picked up a new seat

Oooooh, I am jealous! If I get to where the stock seat is hurting me, that is definitely the direction I'm going to take. Not only should it be way more comfy, but it LOOKS awesome!

Only girls ride three wheels !!!

So far, I've received nothing but really positive feedback. Most people around here haven't seen anything but the TV ads, or maybe one driving down the road at a distance, so there's a lot of fascination. I honestly can't imagine riding a delta trike - not the same thing at all.

Only girls ride three wheels !!!

Meh. I got razzed by non-riders when I rode a bike. I got razzed by the sportbike guys when I rode a cruiser. I got razzed by the Harley guys when I rode a Japanese cruiser. I got razzed by the Harley guys when I rode a Harley in full protective gear. I got razzed by everyone when I...

    I'm open to advice...

I didn't start riding motorcycles until I was 47. Spent 8 years doing that, then medical issues made me a little unsteady on my pins, so I had to give up 2 wheels. Never even considered a convertible - I've ridden in plenty, owned one, and they don't come close to the fun of "having your knees...

    Getting stuff together... exciting

That's so exciting! I just ordered a tank bag for mine. Fishing in my pockets for money at the drive-thru is no fun. And then I have to pull up, get off, and open the frunk to put my food in there for the trip home. Hope this tank bag is big enough for takeout! ;)

    Can you top this

I was doing 120 on my way to work yesterday morning! (Of course, I had accidentally switched over to metric and didn't have time to read the manual to figure out how to switch it back. :D )
