• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just picked up my new '11 RTS - anybody found a deal on Insurance?

:congrats: and :welcome: We use Liberty Mutual as well as they gave us the best deal. All companies will be different and as other have stated, many factors go into getting a premium. Good luck....

    Pin Program

I am not sure how I got the welcome package. Not sure if the paperwork the dealer submitted for the sale triggered it or me registering on the Can Am site did it. The mileage pins are a result of registering on the Can Am site and then applying for the pins as you achieve the goal. You have...

    Pin Program

Well it did show up  . I think they are sending them out quarterly instead of the 4-8 weeks as the web site suggests.

Post here if you have over 5000 miles, not kilometers on your Spyder

Over 6500 here. I just got my 5K pin and I think Lamont is correct, they are sending them every quarter instead of the 4-8 weeks mentioned on the website.

    Pin Program

About 6-8 weeks after my purchase I received a package from BRP that contained a Spyder patch, pin, thank you letter and about 20 credit card sized brochures to be passed out. It was a nice surprise as I did not expect it at all.

    Best Mod for $100-$200?

Never thought about the 12V socket. The voltmeter was almost a given. Been thinking about oil pressure as well, but the 12V socket may be a good alternative.

That sounds like my story. I submitted in January and then re-submitted in sometime in March, after about 9 weeks.

    Gusty Impressions

I agree with the handling of the RT in a strong cross-wind. I took a long ride last fall where the wind was quite at the beginning of the day. However, by the time mid-afternoon hit, it was blowing hard. The RT was very easy to keep on-track and I did not feel like I was struggling to stay on...

    Pin Program

Has anyone had problems getting their awards pin from BRP? I received my new owner's package shortly after my purchase, but I have submitted for my 5K pin multiple times and no response from BRP as to whether they received my submittal or why it might have been rejected. I assume I probably...

    mileage

 Great MPG! The best I have bee able to do is about 31-32 and that was pretty much continuous highway driving. When I get into the twistys, my mileage drops. I average around 29. I would be interested in hearing about your shifting patterns as well.

    trailer or trailer

I understand your question. I live in Oklahoma and thinking about rides into Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, etc. Having to get through western Oklahoma and Kansas was what I was thinking about. I agree with having the wind in your hair, but even traveling across those areas in a car is quite...

    Going crazy for tunes

I have been able to get my presets set once with no problem. Using the instructions posted will set the preset number to the last available one. The problem I have is when I want to reset a preset, say that three time real fast :), the "song information" clears out the preset number and I...

    RT-Limited question.

The dealer you choose will make a big difference in your satisfaction. Not so much from the sales, but from service. The one thing about sales is if they only sell Spyders or if they sell several Can-Am product lines (e.g. See Do, ATV, etc.). The more they sell, the more familiar the service...

    The questions keep coming

Depends on who. Most people I have met are very friendly and want more information about what it is, how it rides, etc. However, I have met some hard core bikers that still have that look of scorn on their faces when they look at it. I just wave and keep going. I LOVE this bike and for my...

    Backing Up w/ RT 622

:agree: I have also pulled lots of trailers ranging in size. The smaller they are, the more difficult they are. Just take it slow, correct early and steer in the opposite direction. That is the hardest part to remember. Keep practicing and soon you will be a pro!
