• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which type of helmet do your prefer for "cruising"?

Yeah I've seen it mentioned here and I've visited their website. If it ever makes it to full production, I'll be straight in there! In the meantime I keep trying on helmets in the hope I'll find one I can use. I do have a full face off road type, but I really struggle with the goggles and it's...

New Airflow panels for 2013 ST-S

To be honest, though the panels do feel hotter than I'd like, I've not had any real heat issues. However, I'll be pushing for the new panels because one, just in case and two, it'll be a 2014 bike in all but name (it has a 2014 registration after all!). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

How does the semi automatic transmission work.

Actually, and really only if anyone cares, Great Britain is made up of just three countries (Scotland, England and Wales), the United Kingdom adds Northern Ireland to the mix as United Kingdom is actually short for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Just as well we...

Which type of helmet do your prefer for "cruising"?

I'm too independent for that. I'm pretty disabled (two limbs mostly paralysed, the other two slightly), but I like doing things myself. In the last month I've done two trips, one of 400 miles and the other 500, both on my own with just my Can-Am assistance card for company. The thought of asking...

Which type of helmet do your prefer for "cruising"?

I'd wear a proper full face if only I could. However, I wear the only helmet I can put on and fasten with one hand, which is a polycarbonate open face. I feel it's better than the only alternative (nothing) and a crying shame as it have about half a dozen other helmets in my shed, including a...

New Spyder rider in Oregon 2013 ST-S

Lovely ryde! I've the same in yellow too. There's been a lot of chat regarding overheating and other problems, but 2,000 miles in, the only problem I've had has been a dodgy ignition switch that has just been fixed under warranty. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Why hasn't BRP/Can Am looked at a Full automatic transmission for Spyders?

Took ten minutes on my Outlander and I always carried a spare and the small number of tools required in the tool kit. Still wouldn't want one on my Spyder though as the clutch take-up was far too harsh - the Spyder is so, so much smoother. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Helmet with Heads Up Display and rear view camera!!

I think it looks great, but I have one huge reservation; it's not a very good helmet! When you include the cost of a decent lid + a GPS + the HUD + rear view camera + BT intercom, it's not so expensive, but, and it's a huge but, it's not a decent lid; it's a polycarbonate plastic shell that...

    anyone seen this bullet b4

That is pure, unadulterated evil. Just imagine what that would do to a human being. How sick does someone need to be to design this? On the bright side, at least international law will keep it out of military use and I'm pretty sure most law enforcement agencies would reject it too. Sent from...

    USB Power Socket

I fitted a 1amp and 2.1amp dual USB socket to the left speaker grill of my 2013 STS and it charges my iPhone just great even whilst using it as a SatNav. I also used it to top-up my Sena headset the other day. The only other point of note was that the socket always draws a current and displays...

    Poliaris Slingshot

At 770kg (1,700 lb) and 'just 174 ponies, that gives a rather poorer power to weight ratio plus 140 Ft/lb of torque through one Kendall rear tyre can't offer much traction. Or is it just me that can't get excited by this?

    A little electrickery advice please!

OK job done! I removed the shiny black plastic surround from the dials, then, using a wire coat-hanger to run two fused cables down to the jump-start posts under the left hand service cover. I then ran one to each of the two speaker grills. Each had a 29mm hole cut in it and on the left I fitted...

    Handicapped Spyder Ryders.....Roll call!

I'm tetraplegic so I'm pretty immobile, but I reverse on to the pillion pad and heave my better (left) leg over the 'tank'. Sadly I do tend to kick lumps out of the poor old girl on the way over and down the left side. I do have some clear plastic protective film, but I've not managed to find...

    Iphone holder

My iPhone 5 lived in an Otterbox case 24/7 for 18 months with no issues. I use an Ultimate Addons fully waterproof one now and again no issues. In between the two I used a re sealable food bag and, again, no issues.

I believe the RT stereo is junk, all feedback wanted.

I looked at adding the audio system to my 2013 STS, but at £1,000 ($1,700) the only reason I can see is to be able to use the fancy buttons on my left handle bar for more than just pressing mode before I set off! I would quite like to add the Sat Nav, and probably will, but, for now, I'm using...

    A little electrickery advice please!

If I pull out the blanking plate where the 12v socket goes in the frunk, are there wires pre-connected to the fuse box for fitting the factory socket? Should I tap in there? Is it waste enough to get the wired down there? Please remember that, one, I am an electrical idiot and, two, I can't get...

    A little electrickery advice please!

I want to add a 12v socket to my 2013 STS. I know there's provision to fit one in the frunck, and I may do that, but I really want to do one on or around the dash so I can use my iPhone as a SatNav. I used it recently but it flattened the battery in no time. I'm pretty sure I can figure out how...

    Clean face shield

Best thing is to avoid scratching in the first place as these things ain't cheap. I clean my visor and screen by laying a sheet of soaking wet kitchen paper on them for a few minutes. Wiping away the worst of the detritus with the same soaking wet paper then drying with the sort of large...

Oil Change procedures 2013 RSS SE5

Trying to get your hand, a socket and a catch pan under the sump at the same time is a trick with the lack of ground clearance. Otherwise the only difficulty is removing the half a dozen panels required!
