• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm right there with you. Sorry but this is like upgrading from a Road King to a Sportster. JMO.

New to Can Am Spyder, in need of a little help! Fuel Tank

I know that this was last posted in January and if your wife is like mine, you have gotten this done already but I just stumbled across it. If you are in North Texas, Cowtown Powersports is supposed to be a good dealer. They are on the SouthEast side of Ft Worth along I-20 just West of 287. I...

    Thanks Again

Once again this forum has helped me save a trip to the dealer and to learn more about my Spyder. Since Feb I have put about 1500 miles on it and have been learning more and more about this awesome bike. All of assistance provided through the knowledge base of members has been a huge asset...

Up date on oil catch can 08 GS

I didn't because my wife had the paperwork (She bought it as a birthday present) to show that they had just completed oil/filter change and air filter change just before selling. I just received my new floorboards in the mail yesterday so the installation will begin this afternoon after work...

Up date on oil catch can 08 GS

No worries sir. I actually had fun even though it was a whipping. Made me think and got me out from in front of the tube. Allowed me to use my tools and wits (whats left) to accomplish something. Thanks so much for all of your insight on this. I really do appreciate it. If you are ever...

Up date on oil catch can 08 GS

Holy Crap! Holy Crap...I was sweaty and tired by the time I got the filter in and attached using the non-nippled fuel filter and the stock airbox. I struggled and fought getting the hoses to seat on the hex-head of the filter due in part to the short hose lengths. What a butt whipping...

Up date on oil catch can 08 GS

That would be great! Thank you for the picture. I’m more of a visual person. If you have a parts list and some type of desc on the how-to, I would greatly appreciate it. This site already made me love this bike more. All of the interaction between members and the welcoming to new Spyder...

Up date on oil catch can 08 GS

Trying to find this catch can and see pics about the install. I don’t find it Baja Ron’s site. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. Also, I would love to see the pics you did on the mod to the air intake. Being new to Spyders I want to make it as good as possible. I would appreciate any...

    Canisterectomy

So I have only owned my Spyder since Feb, birthday present from my wife, -GRINS- and I have had this same smell. So after reading this and several other threads, I performed a Canisterectomy over the weekend. Took a ride yesterday as a trial for about an hour and  no smell!! You guys are...

    Footboards or footpegs?

Just guess here but looks like you have to "shave" the original pedal off the lever assembly to install the ISCI extension and possibly drill one hole? I'm new to Spyders and love my 2008 GS "Ole Yeller" but looking to upgrade some things and these floorboards and brake extension seem to be the...

    Footboards or footpegs?

Hope I am not stepping on toes here but, do you have plans that you would sell? This looks very nice and I am somewhat of a tinkerer. This is exactly what I was thinking about rather than buy the floor boards. I was considering all the ways to fab them and this is right in line with what I was...

What about Riders 1st motorcycle being a Spyder?

First post this site. Saw the thread and am intrigued with everyone's responses. I rode 2 wheels for decades while in the military and later in civilian life. Had to get the 'M' endorsement on my license in Texas but also had to take a safety course while in service to be allowed to ride on...

    3/4 Lids I am torn...

After having a run-in with a small tree in 1976 and looking at the right side of my helmet pealed down like a banana, I went with the Bell statement of "If you have a $10 head, buy a $10 helmet". From then on, I stayed with Bell and have a Bell Star full face now that is my favorite. I'm new...
