• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Stuck in first gear

Yep, happened to me. Shift lever fell off, had to ride about 25 miles hiway and 5 city to get back to my daughters house. It was stuck in 4th, this was a padle shift, it would die at stop signs but always restarted then would just creep up to speed. Got to her house, looked underneath and...

    Parking Brake: Bad; Cowtown: Good

Yep, same deal on the parking brake. I was lucky, just about 25 miles from Cowtown, on my way home from a long trip. Pulled in, asked about getting it fixed, hour later I was on the road. They couldn't fix the real problem, needed a new pulley but they did make it work until I could get it...

    GETTING READY

7 is a good ride, 63 not so much. Do yourself a favor, pick up an Arkansas state map and ride the state hiways back. I've spent a lot of time there and the backroads are truly amazing. It is one of my all time favorite areas to ride. Dwight

    Help - 2010 RT-S

I left the ranks of Spyder owners because of problems with my very early RT Premier edition. We both liked the bike, and we considered trading it in on an 11. Finally decided to go back to a conventional trike. Personally I think BRP went overboard with the electronics on these bikes. If the...

    Automatic transmissions

The Paddle shift was one of the main reasons that I bought my Spyder. All of the other trikes that I have owned or now own are fitted with the KlickTronic or Pingel electric shift. The paddle shift, electric adjustable windshield, and at the time the air adjustable rear suspension were some of...

    No Nanny ?

Redfox All of the time I owned mine I hoped someone would figure out how to do this. It seems if you expressed any interest in this you would immediately be lambasted by all of the safety nazi's. If it's been done I'm pretty sure you won't see mention of it here. Dwight

    Multiple issues with 2010 RT

It has happened far too many times. I really think BRP would have been ahead of the game if they had developed the electronic controls themselves instead of adapting them from a four wheel vehicle. I suppose they saved a lot of development costs by using an automotive system, unfortunately it...

Lossing air in rear shock for the forth time

Mine is running with the 4th replacement rear shock. It was in the shop several times to fix the air system. Last time it was in (around 4 weeks worth) they replaced everything. It seems to be holding but I haven't ridden much since then. Dwight

Took an 11 RT for a ride!

I was at Cowtown USA yesterday discussing a trade. Len offered me the chance to ride an 11 so I took him up on it. You will notice the firmer front suspension almost immediatly. This was a brand new, o miles bike, so I don't know what the front springs were set at. It was a short ride, about 10...

    201X mileage as of today

Had to go out and look. 2010 RT-S SE. I rode it home from the shop on December 23, 2009. As of today it has 16,100 miles on it. Dwight

    What's it worth?

Thanks for the replies guys. Still haven't decided to trade it in but when I asked my dealer he really lowballed me. That's why I was trying to find out what it was worth. I guess if I trade it, it won't be with the selling dealer.Dwight

    What's it worth?

I'm dissapointed that I haven't recieved more replies on this. I'm really dissapointed in trade in value so far. In 2009 I sold my HD TriGlide with 7500 miles on it for $28K, purchased it for 32K. I can't hardley believe that I would have to take a 10 to 12K hit to move up to the same RT-S...

    What's it worth?

Hey guys and gals, I'm thinkin about trading my 2010 RT-S PE SE in on a 2011 RT-S SE in Titanium (?). Anybody have any thoughts on what I should expect to be allowed? Haven't had much luck finding trade in values in the books, to new to be listed. It has 16K on it but isn't dinged up and has had...

    I am getting ready

Hey AKspyderman, Off topic but do you think I could ride an RT-S from Kansas to Alaska and back without having to worry about having something go wrong that would require a dealer to repair? I can't think of anything other than replacing tires that doesn't require a dealer. This would be two...

    Honda Trike

Wow! More that you expected RJB? Whether she could safely make the transition between different styles of trikes pretty much depends on her. Does she have a lot of experience on her Spyder? 10 or 15 thousand miles or just of couple of thousand. Is she an aggressive rider, or just an easy...

    Air pressure and shock setting

Update, It appears the air system is working the way it should. While it was in the shop this time they replaced the rear shock. I asked if they replaced it with the 2nd generation shock and they assured me they did. I'm thinking it either wasn't the 2nd gen shock or the one I got isn't a very...

    Air pressure and shock setting

Thanks Scotty, the measuring trick should tell me what I need to know. I just got it back from the shop. They replaced the complete air system, and I mean everything! They also replaced the rear shock but it didn't act like the different settings had any effect. It's supposed to get up to 50...

    Air pressure and shock setting

Yep, you're right Frank. It should automatically inflate and deflate. It doesn't appear to be doing that. My dealer said that the only thing left to replace is the digital switches in the instrument cluster. They said they would do that but only as a last resort. They have one in stock so all it...

    Air pressure and shock setting

Have any of you RT-S owners checked you airbag (shock) pressure for each setting? I just got mine back from the shop for air system repairs and it doesn't seem like it has the correct pressures for each setting. According to the owners manual the softest setting with a solo rider should be 20psi...
