• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No! The amps arcing across those thin wires would fry them. :gaah: Use real jumper cables hooked to a car.

Use Pig Tail Ann has an 2013 ST with the battery just behind the frunk. I own an Honda ST1300. I hooked up a fused pigtails for both. They are generally long enough you can route them so you can get to them without pulling things off. A pig tail kept under the seat might work, you'll have...

2013 ST Limited SE5 Deep Dive Part 1

Removed all the body panels. Summary: Panel bolts and nuts where missing along with some plastic washers. Recommend you take your panels off to inspect work performed. Removing the mirrors was baffling until I read billybovine's "how-to" in an ST thread. Manual got it wrong. Thanks much for...

2008 Backfire and front plug fouling

Are those the vacuum lines to the MAPS? Are there others that should be replaced? I ask because I plan on replacing the MAPS vacuum hoses, silicone hose is in hand. I looked through the manual and didn't notice any others; it's a big manual with no cross reference.

    2013 Brake Pad Pin Torque?

I took the rear break caliper off and reassembled it. My 3 questions on reassembly references the manual's "brake pad pin" instructions. See picture. 1) The nomenclature referencing seems off. In the picture the manual identifies item 2 as a "retaining screw", but the torque specification...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recommend making a Formal Complaint to NHTSA at https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/ This is a continuing problem that needs a general recall and fix. How many pages now. Being stranded is not safe for single riders. BRP has a fun product with the Spyder, it needs better...

    What is this Bolt/Screw Type

Finaly Found The Tool The tool for this is called a Givi Tool for the Givi Mounting Kit (what the bolts are called). I can find no reference for this in the service manual; maybe I missed it. It can only be purchased through your dealer. The part number is 708300261. Wish it could have been...

    What is this Bolt/Screw Type

2013 ST Limited. Want to remove the saddlebag support but can't identify this bolt type. I need to remove the panel under it. The service manual say's to remove the "mounting screws". Huh? Its a bolt type I've never seen before and I googled it but can't find anything on it. It looks...

    Power Port

The only way you're going to not drain your battery with a direct hookup is to disconnect anything drawing power from it when you shut down the spyder. Follow the advice given and hookup to one of the switched accessory plugs. Almost EVERYONE I know who had a direct hookup power supply has...

First BRP product & first day was a failure, flashing R & N what next?

I'm Backlashing Ann's 2013 ST Limited has and 4 major failures. Stator, regulator, brake light sticking, and A arm bushings/ball joint. The brake light is recurring. After 3 attempts with dealer to get it fixed it's still sticking and causing limp home mode; unsafe! I contacted BRP...

    Question - Brake Part Longevity

Looking to clean brakes. Manual calls for new retaining clips and caliper screws. Kits cost about $20 each caliper! Can't find separate parts. For the DIY, do these really need to be replaced? Has anyone reused them and what's you experience? On my ST1300 motorcycle, Honda calls for...

    Garmin 665 on 2014 RT-Limited

It's the pin out The problem from, my perspective from reading your thread entries, is in the connection to the wiring harness of the Can AM. Your going to have to buy a connector (and pins) that matches the one you're trying to connect to. Make sure you understand the pin out for that...

    Brake light problem solved

Ann's brake light is still coming on after 3 visits to the dealer! :banghead: I'd like to know what the new brake lever did to fix your problem. What's different about the new brake lever you had installed? If you don't know, could you call the service department and find out?

    Brake fluid change and BUDS

Preparnig to flush brake fluid Just went through the service manual and was following up with notes from experienced riders. I don't see where any fluid is bypassed by not finishing with BUDS. The VCM is flushed manually. Looked at the line diagrams and again couldn't find a line by passed...

LIMP MODE,battery was weak, replaced at dealer along with oil change and filler, plug

Yes. Two reasons Ann gets Limp mode. Your reason could be different. These are our problems, easy tests to cross them off. 1. Bad cell in battery. Ann ignored battery warning light once and the Spyder ST went into Limp mode and then stopped a after a few miles. It resulted in a fried...
