• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

09 RS - HID question answered

The bulbs were cheap enough that I purchased a set of 3k fogs to test out and ran them for awhile. Unfortunately with the side markers being orange, the fogs being yellow and the headlights being white it didn't look right on MY spyder. On yours I think it will make a good combo because of...

09 RS - HID question answered

Found this on ebay (i have no idea if this is true but) 55watt HID kit has: (4200lm output! 30%-40% more than 35w HID system ) This makes me ask a new question.. What is the heat difference between 35w HID and 55w. Wondering if a 55w HID would melt the housing or not. I think I may have...

My 09 Phantom with LEDs, etc..

Spyderwolf: I take that back, I can hear the music up to about 50mph. Stripper: We can make an exception and add you to Team RS :)

My 09 Phantom with LEDs, etc..

I've been thinking of a new pipe but the only problem is that more and more places are putting laws into effect that restrict decibles to 82-86. I think the micron might be above that :/ But if I do the Micron I'll have to make the switch to the JL Audio setup. :D

My 09 Phantom with LEDs, etc..

I was looking for LEDs but most places wanted $150-300 for them which is over priced IMO. I don't need super cree LEDs with polished optics on the end. I just want to light the bike up, wanted something that would be water proof, cycle through colors, be able to cut-to-size, and have a remote...

My 09 Phantom with LEDs, etc..

Just scan ebay for HID kits for your bulb type. They start around 35 bucks with free shipping. For 5-10 bucks more you can get smaller ballasts but the normal size ballasts work just fine. Only reason I went with the smaller ones was concerns over space for mounting them on the RS.

My 09 Phantom with LEDs, etc..

I ride with a shoei RF-1100 firestrike helmet and can hear the music up to 35 MPH with the shield down. The music is more for showing off when at traffic lights, gas station, back roads at 25 mph. etc.. one of these...

My 09 Phantom with LEDs, etc..

...with all the focus on the RT these days I had to post these videos to represent Team RS. Too much talk of "touring" going on lately from the RT side of the house. ;) (hahaha) Needed to bring the Sport / Styling side of the RS back into action :)

09 RS - HID question answered

I'm not sure they sell 55w HIDs any more unless you get the original BMW or Mercedes ones.

09 RS - HID question answered

I used 35w HIDs which should be perfectly fine. The way you install them is you take the wires going to the stock headlights and connect them into the ballast. This is what tells the ballast to "fire" when the lights come on. The ballast then connects to the 35w HID bulb. You will have to cut...

My 09 Phantom with LEDs, etc..

Time to represent the Phantom Crew :P I picked up my new left-over 09 Phantom back in Nov 2010. Here are two videos showing off my ride. Mods so far: Headlight HIDS $43 (xentec / ebay) Fog Light HIDS $43 LEDs from china $58 (dealextreme.com) w/remote Bose companion 3 speakers $224 (best...

Wheely? I think someone needs to do it

I think the key to pulling this off is to put the wife on the back of the spyder to offset the center of gravity. "Hey honey, we're going for a nice trip around the block. Just hold on TIGHT.. trust me"

Wheely? I think someone needs to do it

I'm guessing the camera has to be mounted on the back wheel / frame area so it catches the fronts leaving the ground. I'm not sure the wife will let me use her HD camcorder. I may have to get a cheapy USB camera at bestbuy or something for this.

Wheely? I think someone needs to do it

Just wondering.. (hehehe) Do you think if I pull the sensors off the 3 wheels and stiff'n up the front shocks its possible to do a wheely on the Spyder. I'm not saying I want to do one.. (hehe) just wondering if you guys think it's possible. I'm guessing if you stand up a bit and pull hard...

09 RS - HID question answered

NOTE: This thread is for the Spyder RS/GS. The Spyder RT may have different bulb sizes so use caution. HIDS: For those that do not know HIDs are "High-intensity discharge lamps". Those white/blue looking lights you see on most luxury vehicles on the road. The new generation of HIDs are 35w...

    RT ACCIDENT

Thats why I posted the question on how the DPS works (does it have contact sensors?). If the driver makes a left turn (left sensor gets pressed in) and then goes right to straighten out (right sensor gets in). Did the right sensor stick? Then the driver will probably steer left again to...

    RT ACCIDENT

Scary stuff, I'm glad they are okay. Not to hijack this thread but how does the DPS work? Does it have a sensor that detects which way you are turning then engages a motor to assist in the steering? If so, could those sensors be sticking?
