• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New hitch install on RT

Don't know what you mean by "cel" but the only thing you need to remove is the cotter pin in the existing axle nut on the right side, slide the new hitch in place, insert the new long bolt through the hitch and existing axle bolt, put new nut and washer on right side, torque to spec.and install...

    Rear brake pads

You don't need to remove any tupperware but removing the muffler makes it a much easier task and there are only three bolts to remove it. Two on the pipe connection with a dougnut gasket and one hanger bolt. After you drop the muffler it's all pretty straight foreward. BTW, I've done the twice...

    Water pump oil leak news

Hate to say this but this water pump issue may just be a bigger problem than we all thought. Even if I get mine back next Tuesday, it'll be 3 weeks of nice fall weather ridding lost. I lived with a continual DPS problem for over a year but at least I could ride it. Not having power steering off...

    Water pump oil leak news

Latest Status Called the dealer. Still no shaft. Last time I went through this, BRP sent a shaft that had the shoulder portion machined wrong and the shaft would not fit. Went through this process twice, repeat sent another mis michaned shaft. BRP finally told dealer that they were waiting on...

Oil leak follow up RT-S #180 is at the dealer. Oil leaking from the water pump shaft AGAIN and rear valve cover gasket is leaking. My extended warranty is covering all of it AND also replacing the front valve cover gasket. Warranty is not BRP Best. RT has 30+ miles. Of course, it'll be close to...

How Many Touring miles in a day & any reported breakdowns on big trips

I take my 2010 RT-S to and from Bolder, Colorado at least once every year. Took it twice this year and twice last year. Each trip is straight through with no overnight stops. 630 miles each way. The first trip (spring of 2010), broke the front cyl. exhaust header on the way back and had to have...

Had all I can stand can't stand no more; Popeye.

I experienced the DPS fault problem for over a year. Like yours, the code would come and go. Never seemed to have the problem when I was at the dealership. Each time I took it to the dealer, they'd hook it up to BUDS and see an old existing code. Would clear the code and find no problem. During...

    Improving the Cardo G4 microphone

I am also interested in this subject but don't have an answer for you. I have a Shoei Neotec helmet and have a Cardo G-4 with a boom mic. I hate having to fish the boom mic into and under the chin bar every time I put the helmet on so I also purchased a base unit with a wire mic thinking I could...

Vibration...BRP's solution by the "Ostrich method

30,000 miles, on 3rd new rear tire and second set of new front tires. Vibration is in a very narrow band speed wise. Totally depentant on weather belt is pulling rear wheel hard (on incline) or belt pull side slack (on decline). I'm well aware of tire/wheel vibration issues. This is not...

Vibration...BRP's solution by the "Ostrich method

[CENTER] Sorry, Didn't mean it red lined at 70 in 4th. Said I could do 70 (or faster) in 4th. Point is, it didn't make any difference what RPM I was running, only saw the vibration at certian SPEED. Don't think mine will reach 114 in any gear. The barn door will only push so much air.

Vibration...BRP's solution by the "Ostrich method

The world is full of opnions on this so I thought I'd just add my two cents worth. After reading all of this, I'm certian we have two issues going on. The vibration problems associated only with RPM only are probable a motor mount issue whereas the speed only vibrations issues are belt related...

    Spyder Dealership Recommends Harley

Tire change This has been a non issue for me. I'm on my 3rd tire on the RT and won't be long till I have the 4th. I purchase the tire from any tire shop (provided I don't need the BRP stock brand) and have them mount it. Of course, I remove the tire/wheel assembly myself and reinstall. Been...

    RT Exhaust Wrap

On my 2010 RT-S, I removed all of the exhaust components, including the cat converter and had them ceramic coated and reinstalled. I also had the muffler ceramic coated because I didn't like the funky flat finish on it. Did all this over 1-1/2 years ago and have noticed no ill effects, deeper...

I would like to remove the purge canister on my 2010 RT-S but have not found any removal information for the RT. I might have missed something, but it looks like the only info applies to the RS. At any rate, any help would be appreciated. Has someone out there done this and if so, were there any...
