• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    ceramic coating

Ceramic coated my pipes 2 or 3 years ago with little heat reduction. Last year, removed them again and wrapped them in titatiun heat wrap. Much improved heat reduction. BTW, be cautious about wrapping. Can and will cause rusting but as mine were already ceramic coated, this isn't a problem for...

    Here's a look at the 2014 Can-Am Spyder lineup

Well, the wait is over and it looks like BRP made all the changes I desired. As for me, after being one of the first to purchase an RT-S at introduction (#180, 2010) and living with all of the initial problems and seeing all of the initial problems with the 2013 change, think I'm waiting for the...

My axle nuts are driving me nuts...

The left nut is actually welded to the axle. It is not removable. In order to achieve your end, you'll be required to remove the axle unless you can mount this on the right side.

    Gas Shocks

The stock shock is marginal without a trunk rack. If you remove all the tupperware around the trunk, you'll notice that all of the mounting points exist on the oposite side of the shock. It would be easy to purchase another shock and mounting ends from BRP and duplicate the shock arangement...

    Exhaust wrapping round 2

FYI, removed both headers 2 years ago on my 2010 RT-S, had them ceramic coated. Coating didn't make much of a difference so this year I removed the headers again and wrapped them in 1" with a much better reduction in heat. Don't bother with the ceramic JMO.

1" or 2" lava wrap tape?

Did the same with mine. Used SS hose clamps. Took a little over 2 50' rolls of 1" wrap with 50% overlap to complete job. Let it run in driveway, without Tupperware for 20 min., then took it for a 30 min ride. By that time, it had stopped smoking, reinstalled all the body panels. Be sure to use...

    Power Buss Install

Installed a power buss on my 2010 RT-S. Chose to install it under the seat so that I'd have easy access to it without removing body pannels. Not enough height clearance under the seat for the buss so I removed the plactic pannel over the left side, top of the gas tank, cut an outline of the buss...

    Water pump oil leak news

Mine had oil leak. Made a mess on an otherwise spotless garage floor. Think some might of also coolant leak. Good luck. Sounds like Rotac engine still has a few bugs after 6 years in Spyder product:opps:

Missing exhaust spring and melted cylinder

Thats true. The left side has no spring even though there is a place for one there. On my 2010, 2 years ago when I removed the headers to have them ceramic coated, I purchased another spring and during installation, put one on the left side. Tech. at the dealership said I shouldn't have one on...

It's one of the few items Wal Mart has that isn't made in China. Their air quality is too bad to use it for anything, including breathing.

    Opps broken tie rod

Had the same problem with my 2010 RT. I happen to of caused my problem by improperly re-installing the link. The link must be bolted to the tie rod on the INSIDE portion of the tie rod. When installing it, it looks like it lines up bolted to the outside but if you bolt it up that way, when the...

Head light, Fog light possible problem

I hope so. It's been a nagging problem since I purchased it in 2010. Lens fogging occures when washing it but usually clears up the same day. The cap has an "O" ring gasket to seal the back of the unit and should prevent the fogging. Shame on me for not complaining to the dealer early on about...

Head light, Fog light possible problem

Has anyone else encountered a problem with the "CAP" or cover on the back side of either the head light or fog light on their 2010 RT? Had the front compartment off this last week and noticed the "CAP" on the left fog light loose and the one on the right side broken and of course also loose...

Does newer style windshield PIN's use a sleeve?

The newer style (with screws at either end) don't have a sleve. It's a rod with an internal thread in each end, held in place with a torx, button head screw at each end. Much easier to work with rather than worrying about dropping the old style clip down inside the openings below. I have a 2010...

    Helmet Storage...

My wife and I have the same helmet. Mine is an XL and her's is a M. I fit BOTH in the front compartment provided we have nothing else in there. Requires placing them in oposite (one facing up and the other down. Tight fit but it works for us.
