• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New baja ron sway bar with lamonster links just installed

Sprinkler valve box hole used for depth need to remove the bar: I installed the sway bar on my F3 using a slightly different process. I drove the front wheels up onto those cheap plastic car ramps you can buy at Harbor Freight. I removed the plastic shroud/pins that give access to the the...

Hello Spyder Riders, I'm in the process of machining a threaded adapter that will allow me to adjust the length of my #3 U-Fit brake rod. I would like to install this adapter as close to the aft rod-end clevis as possible. My adapter has 1/4 inch diameter rod sections that will fit the internal...

Source of noise on left side of ACE 1330 engine

A possible source of noise on the left-hand side of the ACE 1330 engines maybe the straight cut (spur) gears used on the cam reduction drive train. Click on the photo to enlarge. The straight cut gears do not put an axial load (thrust load) on either gear but they produce noise. Helical gears...

What's my Spyder thinking about? Understanding CAN-Bus

Billybovine, that is correct? CAN stands for Controller Area Network, and Bus describes the physical (Wire) network that connect the various modules. CAN-Bus systems do not have a central main computer. The control of your Spyder is divided into modules that exchange information on the BUS...

Does the ACE 1330 engine contain a Slipper Clutch?

Slipper Clutch details: Slipper Clutches on motorcycles. Thanks Deer Slayer: I understand what you're explaining, but I don't think we're talking about the same thing. What I'm talking about is a clutch that allows the drive wheel to spin freely during hard engine compression braking, giving...

What's my Spyder thinking about? Understanding CAN-Bus

I decided to put my spyder on the psychiatrist couch to find out what's thinking about........... I searched the internet for information about BRP's implementation of CAN-Bus and found nothing! BMW uses an implementation of CAN-Bus and allows some access by the owners, but BRP is mum and...

Does the ACE 1330 engine contain a Slipper Clutch?

Doc, That makes perfect sense for the SE6. Thank you. How about the manual tranny? High power (compression) 4 stroke 2 wheelers use a slipper clutch to prevent wheel hop on downshifting, how does the manual tranny Spyder handle this problem. I have not looked at the parts list for this...

Does the ACE 1330 engine contain a Slipper Clutch?

I would like to know if the ACE 1330 engine contains a slipper clutch, or is BRP using Nanny to watch for wheel skid on compression braking. I read in the owner's manual that Nanny may increase (open) the throttle to prevent skidding on sudden throttle release. The owner's manual did not give...

    Anyone else have this problem

How you can fix this problem yourself: I have seen leaks like this on automobile cooling systems. The initial requirements for this type of failure are two things. 1. A drop in atmospheric pressure. 2. A leak in the cooling system. I'll address item #1 first. When the temperature drops...

    Installing a Baja Ron Bar

How high? How high is reasonable? Will those drive-on ramps used for changing the oil on my car work? I'd guess they maybe 10 to 12 inches high. I have a floor jack too. I believe I read a comment by CaptBob that 25 inches of ground clearance was required to slide the bar out from the...
