• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RIP Tom Clancy

I have all his fiction works in hard cover and a couple of the non-fiction. Guess you could say I'm a fan. His works were so detailed that the movies they inspired, while good were no comparison. Especially liked the news article long ago about the "Red October" story, when Congress held...

    Carlisle Bike Fest

If you are attending Carlisle Bike Fest this weekend, stop by the end of rows NG and NH to say hi! We set up our camper there on a last minute "lets do it". Will be plenty warm this weekend, so we'll have cold drinks available and the A/C will be on inside. Look for the Elevation fifth wheel...

    4 Wheeled Trike

It's a Voyager kit, still have one on my Ultra Classic. Was my first attempt to keep riding 2 up after my minor stroke and until I could afford a real trike. And I'm very pleased with my RT! The Voyager Convertible kit comes off in 5 minutes and back on in 10 or so. It is very hard on the...

For those with Toy Haulers... Question about amount of gas in the spyder

No issue with that because the living space is completely separate from the garage in mine, sliding glass door between. I keep the vents slightly open to the rear during travel so it doesn't become "water injection" if it rains. May not be the best position for air movement, but it is something.

    Hesitant pickup through the gears

Just for peace of mind, check your oil level. If your oil is very low, it will not want to shift, and then will work normally. Happened to me this year, immediately after my RT was serviced (600 mile). Seems the dealer gave it back to me nearly 2 quarts low. Make sure you follow the instructions...

For those with Toy Haulers... Question about amount of gas in the spyder

I had asked some of the same questions earlier this year, and it sure is nice to get input from others - http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?48177-Toy-Hauler-Questions I have traveled with the garage side wall vents slightly open and have had no issues. Amount of fuel did not make...

This may have come up before, but if so I couldn't find it...

Mine is "Scootie", I've always called my bikes scooters, even the ultra classic. Wife seems to mind me calling the RT "Scootie" and replies "It's not a scooter". She never minded my calling the bikes scooters before. I'll be keeping the Scootie name, for sure! And I'll let you know when...

    Wanting A Passenger's Perspective

We went from HD Ultra Classic (2 wheels and later with a Voyager kit) to the RT. My wife tells all our friends how much more comfortable the RT is as a passenger. She even pilots the RT occasionally, and loves it.

brakes bias front to rear - thoughts?

Was just reading in another thread about brake pad thicknesses and how the fronts last much longer than rears. I have thought about the braking system and wondering if there is a proportioning valve similar to a car/truck that modifies the amount of braking force due to load changes, such as...

Leah is coming to the BBQ.

Thanks for the video and best of luck with the toy hauler. We still take Navy showers even though we have bigger tanks now, just easier that way. Show everyone how the shut off works on the shower head and you'll be fine. I normally carry one full 5 gallon fresh water container when we travel...

150 miles for a Rootbeer Float?

20 mile round trip to a nearby FD for bike breakfast, followed by 40 more miles just because. Cool and windy weather here in Pa, and it was great. Met a new (to me) Spyder couple and had a nice chat as they were asking which dealer to do their service.

Mid-Atlantic Spyder Ryde and Scooter Rally May 17-19 in PA

We'll be there as well, staying at Spring Gulch campground. This one is a little closer to us than Spyderfest - closer by about 1000 miles that is! We are only 45 minutes away, just east of Harrisburg.
