• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which GPS fits Garmin 660 GPS mount?

Thank you for that and I'll load them onto my Samsung 25 Ultra & try it on my Carpuride W702. Would make things a lot easier since the Carpuride screen is great in bright sunlight. I use the Garmin mainly on my Harley since it is Pre-Bluetooth capable and I can connect the Garmin into the...

Which GPS fits Garmin 660 GPS mount?

Your right! Forgot the 660 is still supported where my 665 is not. I found that method of loading the map cumbersome and painful at times. I found a great site that you can download the most recent Garmin maps (Open-source maps) for free and install them in 5 minutes by basically renaming the...

Which GPS fits Garmin 660 GPS mount?

I just put the Garmin Zumo 665 (same as the 660 but also has XM built into it) on the Spyder. I current run it on the Harley and wanted the capability to move it from it to the Spyder. I got the harness with the detachable mount from a friend, but I was looking on eBay and there are a few there...

Anyone had over-heating issues after fitting Front Grills? Any issues with ShowChrome Trunk Replacement Shock?

I bought both from Slingmods and just replaced the shock with the heavy duty one about 2 weeks ago. The trunk lid wouldn't stay up anymore. The trunk now stays up when opened. As for overheating, haven't had any issues with those RT vent covers at all. I rode the Spyder twice last week in 95+...

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

I went full circle on this and realized I was after the same thing... I kill myself sometimes... Sorry. Yes, from experience with my Ultra Classic Limited, the curved top windshield does eliminate most of the wind turbulence and give your passenger some relief. I really love my windshield on the...

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

Yes, adding that vent does help and my buddies did the same on their Harleys. Do you like the adjustable winglets and really see a difference from stock? I was thinking of those also. Is it worth the bother if I get the windshield? I wish someone made a windshield like the Clearview "Recurve"...

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

Not being a jerk, but... Even with a well-vented, fully raised windshield, completely eliminating passenger buffeting entirely is rare; and raising a windshield to its maximum height can sometimes make the problem worse for the person in the back. While venting a windshield is highly effective...

Anyone else notice the number of low mileage used Spyders on Marketplace? Any ideas why?

I hear you, mine was a 1937 Flathead 80 and I owned it for 16 year. Sold it years ago because we needed to buy a house. Yeah the resale and investment on the house is great, but I really enjoyed riding it. I orginally bought it as a basket, with most of the parts in milk crates and a frame...

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

I was getting ready to post a question and saw this post first. I've been looking to replace my windshield also. I generally ride just looking over the top edge of the windshield. Looking through it doesn't work for me especially when it's filthy from riding all day into the evening. Also, you...

Are people throwing better shocks at their trike first, instead of better tires?

Try and stick to the coast as much as you can. It's brutally hot here in Calif right now. Here in Simi it's 109° with 30% humidity. Probably a bit cooler towards Nor Cal. A few years back my wife and I rode PCH (on the Harley) from San Simeon all the way up to Washington. It was amazing and...

Anyone else notice the number of low mileage used Spyders on Marketplace? Any ideas why?

It's all of the above and the age factor. I picked up my Spyder from a close friend who decided he just wasn't riding anymore. Most of it was his age and that he just didn't have the passion for it like he previously did. He sold his Screaming Eagle Ultra Classic and the '23 RTL. The other part...

Are people throwing better shocks at their trike first, instead of better tires?

Yup, live in Simi Valley. We have some of the best riding in the country and the worst roads to get there. I've ridden all over half the US and my most favorite ride is still Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) between San Simeon and Monterey. It's sad, the road condition sucks so bad......

Are people throwing better shocks at their trike first, instead of better tires?

Baja Ron's Ultra Bar With End Links first and then tires. I saw the biggest improvement with the swaybar and some with the tires. Here in Southern California, (I should say Calif in general) we have some of the crappiest:poop: roads in the country; this setup really made a difference in handling...

Are Spyders becoming popular, or not?

You are so spot on. I thought about selling my Harley after picking up the RTL but the motorcycle market is in the toilet here on the West Coast. Surpisingly, Spyders are still holding their resale value here. When I found out what I can get for my HD Ultra Limited and it's in primo condition...

Feedback on Ultimate Seats Low Profile Passenger Backrest vs the OEM Passenger backrest with arms, or mounting the OEM backrest straight onto trunk?

Obviously you've been married (like I) a while and know how to "verbally" navigate those waters....LOL :ROFLMAO: Yeah my wife is the same and can't get on the Harley anymore so trying to make the Spyder has comfortable as it is on my Ultra Classic Limited. She loves the fact that she can get on...

Feedback on Ultimate Seats Low Profile Passenger Backrest vs the OEM Passenger backrest with arms, or mounting the OEM backrest straight onto trunk?

You sure, when I looked at the SlingMods website and it shows a person sitting aganst both from the side view and you can physically see their postition "move" back a few inches. The wives of all the folks I ride with really like it over the stock "armed" backrest. They all say it's more...

Feedback on Ultimate Seats Low Profile Passenger Backrest vs the OEM Passenger backrest with arms, or mounting the OEM backrest straight onto trunk?

Hey there, I was wondering if anyone has done anything with the passenger backrests on the 2020+ RTL? I was looking at the Ultimate Seats Low profile passenger backrest replacement from SlingMods. This eliminates that 2 ¾” trim piece between the rear trunk and the seat; which would give my wife...

Installing a rocker switch USB C charge port - any reason this won't work?

If you ever want to change the switch out, you can buy one that you can configure in any way. I used this one for turning on my running/high beam spot lights. Internal LEDs match the other switches on the dash. Glad you got it working. Mike

Installing a rocker switch USB C charge port - any reason this won't work?

Not sure what the draw on the fog light plug is, but those inline fused rocker switches with USB's tend to draw up to 6 amps (fused at 10 amps) so you might overload that line or blow the fuse. I would run a fused power line from the battery into a 20 amp headlight relay that turns on when the...
