• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

OMG hail storms are horrible; I feel for you! The last one my wife and I got caught in; it was like following a gravel truck! We stayed under a freeway overpass until it stopped. I always have to laugh about getting caught in the rain. We rented Harleys on the big island of Hawaii and got caught...

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

I bought and installed the TricLED Saddlebag Red LED Running Lights. First off, the wires coming out of the light (both sides) are a foot too short for the RTL. I soldered wires to both lights and dressed the wires in spiral wrap. The install wasn’t horrible but my antenna wouldn’t come off to...

Going Down Memory Lane; Show Us Your First Motorbikes & Your Current Spyder

All, I thought it would be fun to show each other our first motorcycles and a current picture of your Spyders (including you & your other half on the bike if possible). This also allows us to put a face with your user’s name and see some cool machines. I hope you all participate! No need to...

Which GPS fits Garmin 660 GPS mount?

I totally agree with you and just wanted to make a few added comments, since I'm still using the Garmin Zumo 665 on my Spyder & Harley (I move it from mount to mount). The mount/harness is a little different for the 665 because the unit has SiriusXM integrated into it. It has just the XM...

    Happy Birthday

Thank you, sir! Appreciate it!! Going out to lunch with some old workmates! I’ll get to hear what a sh*t show the place is now. So happy I retired from that place 3 years ago!

Anybody using an aluminum frame enclosed trailer to tow their Spyder?

Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a used one to buy. Haven't found anything yet in my area. Most people that buy them, tend to keep them. I believe yours is the "Trike" trailer version, correct? Do the ramps load up under the trailer? I would like to tow it behind our Motorhome as a...

New Member Intro & Questions re Upcoming Purchase Decision

@WoodmanTX I'm a long time Harley rider for over 50 years. I love my Harley and I'm keeping it for now, but the Spyder is my "go to" bike right now. It's an amazing ride and I find myself more "relaxed" riding it over the Harley. Reason I switched to a Spyder; was that my wife, because of...

300 miles in temps over 105 with low humidity ... dangerous

So glad you guys were ok. Riding long distance in the heat can be brutal. Our last few trips (on the Harley B4 the Spyder) we had to go through the Mojave Desert in heat that was 107+. We originally tried just the wet vests and found they worked well for a short time, then evaporated very...

Am I being too cheap by Not changing the filters on a low milage oil change?

The 441 was an absolute beast! Yes the "kickback" from the kick starter was ugly. I went limping away from it a few times. My buddy had one as a dirt bike, you'd hear him climbing a hill with the "dhut, dhut dhut dhut" single piston just thumping away. Crazy torque! It could climb anything! We...

How to gear up to ride comfortably and safely in really hot weather?

I'm a long-distance rider and have had to ride through some brutally hot areas (103+) in Southern California like the Mojave Desert. Riding on the Harley is like sitting on a toaster. The heat coming off of it at low speeds is horrible. What has always worked for us it using wet vests (soaked...

Am I being too cheap by Not changing the filters on a low milage oil change?

Yes! On the Ultra I run it in all 3 holes (Engine, Tranny and Primary case). When shifting gears, I don't get that "Clunk" anymore. It shifts like butter. I had to tear done my 02 Roadking Motor at 50K because I toasted the top end. I was coming back from Yellowstone (Sturgis Rally trip) running...

Am I being too cheap by Not changing the filters on a low milage oil change?

The one thing I learned in riding a Harley is Oil & Filter is cheaper than a motor. Granted it's Air cooled vs Water cooled but the principle is the same. I always change my oil earlier than recommended. Amsoil is amazing, and run it in the Spyder, Ultra Classic and even my Mini Cooper Countryman.

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

I installed the Freedom Shield 24" Recurve windshield in light grey tint with the Up vent covers. Also installed the Slingmod Thermal R&D Ceramic Coated Cat-Back Touring Exhaust System with Carbon Fiber Tip. Love the sound of the exhaust pipe now. I'm still running the Cat. - -

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

Thanks for getting back to me. I also wear bifocals and postition them in my helmet so I can see the distance and the dash/screens. I have a Bell Mag 9 that I use for the Spyder. It's got 2 dropdown (inner sunglass and outer visor) visors to choose from. I rarely use the outer one unless it's...

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

Yup, agreed @mecsw500. Everyone's experiences and results are going to be different. When riding, I'm generally looking right over the top edge of the shield. I tried lowing it and raising it up, with mixed results. I hate looking through the windshield. At night, for me looking through the...

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

I went with the Freedom recurve windshield on my 2023 RTL and I've been using it for over a week now. I'm a little disappointed with it. I guess I set my expectations a bit high since I have a recurve on my Harley Ultra (different company) and the wind turb8ulence is neglectable on it, even over...

Anyone else had to Insure their Spyder as a 2-wheel motorcycle? Any success changing its designation to a 3-Wheeler?

I went with Geico because they were cheaper on my Harley (and now the Can Am) than Progessive and AAA
