• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pedal box installed

Ordered a pedal box from Lamonster. It showed up this afternoon. Very easy install and set up.
I started out in sport mode. I spent a moment in the garage idling then twisting the throttle to get an Idea of how this was going to play out. Throttle response is noticably quicker.
Backed out if the garage without hurting myself.
Once on the street I twisted the throttle and holy hell. It was like a jet taking off. I dialed back the sport mode a few green bars and it felt like It might be the spot. I'll need to take a long ride see.
This Pedal box really woke up my bike.

When I installed mine I first set it at Sport + with the 3 green bars. It really surprised me how responsive it was. Brought back memories of riding a Super Sport bike (Honda 929). I found that the City setting (Green) with 3 bars (+ side) or the Sport (Orange) with 1 bar(+side) is more a comfortable setting for me.

After taking a few short rides I have it set in Sport + with 3 green bars. Its still sensitive but manageable. I need a trip up the mountain make sure.

A Pedal Box or any similar 'throttle enhancer' type device doesn't actually improve the way the engine runs to increase the power/torque outlet of the engine at all, it simply intercepts the 'fly-by-wire' signal between the hand piece and the throttle body, ramping up the signal a little (or a lottle!) depending upon the setting you choose so that you can get your engine to respond quicker and rev out to WOT with much less hand movement than before, effectively making it the reverse of the so called 'Eco Mode', which just reduces/limits the signal so that you never actually get to WOT; while getting the 'chip flashed' or an ECU Upgrade actually changes the way the engine runs, and in the case of our Spyders, allows the engine to access more of the additional power & torque that these engines CAN & DO produce on other platforms where they aren't restricted/de-tuned by BRP's OEM Spyder state of tune. 😖

So a Pedal Box just means your hand movement gives you quicker throttle response, but doesn't actually change the standard power/torque output of your engine, even tho it might 'feel' quicker; while a chip or ECU Upgrade actually does improve the engine's power/torque output by optimising the tune beyond the restricted/detuned version that BRP has permitted you to have with the Factory settings, and if you've got a good 'flash' &/or a competent tuner doing your flash/upgrade, you can likely also get similar enhancements to the throttle signal that the Pedal Box provides, and maybe a bunch more besides! ;)
