Well, here in Vermont, we will be experiencing quite a break from our cold and snowy pattern. Mild temps, windy conditions, and even rain fall will lead to a big thaw. This thaw could lead to some impacts such as minor river flooding and even a risk of a flash freeze as temps come tumbling down after the rain/thaw. Cold and snow lovers fret not, the cold returns in the weekend.
Tonight, the temps will not be as cold as they have been, with lows in the mid to upper 20's with winds gusting up to 30 mph and mostly cloudy skies.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and cool. Highs will be in the upper 30's and even low 40's are possible in the some parts of the State. There is a risk of a few snow/rain or even mixed showers tomorrow during the afternoon and evening. Wind conditions will be breezy with gusts up to 30 mph.
Thursday will be a cold morning with temps in the 20's before warming up, with Southerly winds gusting up to 40 mph. Highs temps will reach into the mid 40's. Expect partly sunny skies.
Now Friday is a different story. Rain will begin in the early morning and that's also when we'll see our warmest temps for the day. Temps in the 50's around 7 am (EST) with moderate rain fall. Then during the afternoon, temps will already be dropping into the mid 30's with things transitioning back to snow in the mountains by Noon (EST)and in the valleys by late evening. Temps by late Friday night will be in the upper 10's. This will be a big-time cool down. Friday's conditions will bring the risk of a flash freeze due to the colder conditions moving in right after rainfall, altho right now, the concern is still relatively low. But they are keeping an eye on this.
Saturday will be much quieter. Morning temps in the mid 10's, afternoon highs in the low 30's, dropping to upper 20's. There'll be a chance of snow showers, especially in the Northern part of Vermont. Partly sunny skies in the first half of the day, with mostly cloudy skies by the second half.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with a chance of snow showers, mainly in the Northern parts of Vermont. Temps will be in the upper 20's and mid 30's.
