Does anyone have any OEM Part #'s for trailer harnesses? Or know of an A/mkt shop to order from?

Hi all, we have a 2017 Can Am Spyder RT Limited with the hitch already installed. However, we need a wiring harness from the bike to the trailer. Unfortunately, we have the old style RT-622 connector, which is a round 9-pin socket found under the left side luggage compartment and our trailer is a flat 4 pin socket. Our local BRP is trying to help us find something. Does anyone have a OEM part #? or does anybody know of an aftermarket shop we can order from?

I was on ebay and found this rigging, but I am not sure if this is the right part I need. I suppose if something can't be found, the only other option I can see would be to install a whole new wiring harness & control module. Any help to point us in the right direction would be very appreciated. Thanks

You can usually buy any type of trailer harness you want from any of the Auto Parts Stores. If it is not on the shelf they can order it.

I converted my 2014 BRP connection (it was the round connection) to a 4 pin. This is the color-coded wiring attached to the hitch cable.
Hope it helps.

Yes, if that is the right one, I will certainly get it and go like you suggested. Just not sure.

Looks like the previous owner removed his BRP trailer module with the 9-pin round connector from his older RT, and installed it onto his 2017 so that he could keep pulling his RT-622 with the 9-pin tongue harness. I think I remember that guy. Now you're the one stuck with it.

If that module you have is from a 2011 or 2012 RT, then you're in luck. Every year it seemed, BRP changed their trailer wiring harness configuration, but by 2011 and 2012, they had settled on only using 4 wires of the 9-pin connector. One of them is the ground. The next year, they went to the 4-wire square. Pin-out of the plug and trailer tongue harness is attached. It would be easy enough for you to check with a multimeter if only 4 pins are used on yours.

The RT-622 has two harnesses. The trailer harness that runs around the trailer and connects all of the lights. It terminates to a 4-pin square connector underneath. Then there is a tongue harness that connects to that and runs up the tongue of the trailer to connect to the bike. That unit up above on eBay is a 4-wire tongue harness. So, that gets you the other end of the 9-pin that you attached to the bike. You won't need most of the rest of it, just cut most of it off, leave yourself some pigtails and put on your 4-pin flat using the pin-out below.

Other than the black on the bike harness being changed for white, the colours are the same. Make sure you use the correct one for the bike end. The only 'exposed' connector on the bike side of the harness is the ground, that way there's no chance of a short should it touch anything.
