Newbie here looking to make a Spyder purchase between now and Spring. I’m finding some attractive deals that are several states away, and would require me to likely use a transporter to get it home. I’d obviously negotiate a deal remotely, and get all the little details out of the way such as additional photos, etc to make sure I really like the bike from afar. At that point I’d fly out to finalize inspection and ride. Anyone ever make a purchase this way and use a transporter? Not sure if this is overly complicated and expensive, or simply not recommended. Appreciate any insights if any of you have done this, or know someone who has. Thanks all.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
Anyone ever done a remote Purchase & Transport? Any insights?

It's like any other remote purchase. (think Ebay or Amazon). There are sellers you can trust and ones you should not. As a newbie, beware of model years older than 10 years. Most dealers will not work on them, and parts can be hard to find. That said, not all sellers are evil. As an example, Dave Raihl at Seminole Power Sports in Florida is almost consistently the highest selling Spyder salesman in the US, if not the world. I personally bought my RT-622 trailer from him sight unseen, and also picked another one up for a friend sight unseen. No regrets. If you were to be dealing with Dave, I'd say you would be safe. Do your homework, ask for help here before you commit.
I live 15min away from imotorsports in Elmhurst. Also just made contact with their store in FL. No inventory that I’m interested in right now, but I like that they ship for free. Definitely what I consider option #1. Thanks for the reply
Have my sights set on something 2017+. Been combing the forums here reading all sorts of info on the do’s and do not's, so thank you for that feedback. I’ll put Seminole on my list of shops to keep an eye on as well. I joined this group to take full advantage of the wisdom and experiences had here, so asking for help when needed is part of the plan. Just need some patience to wait for the right one!

I bought my used RTL and matching RT622 trailer from a non-Spyder dealer 1,200 miles away. It was a "certified" used motor vehicle. Lots of very detailed pictures and information. There had to be some trust and confidence between the dealer and myself. I checked them out as much as I could. Sent a deposit contingent upon personal inspection and test ride. Then flew to the dealer, who picked me up at the airport. Had a cashiers check in hand for the balance of the purchase, completed the paperwork, took delivery, and spent the next 3 days riding the Spyder home. During my research, I discovered the Spyder was still covered by the B.E.S.T. warranty (transferable) and the selling dealer was unaware of this. I didn't tell them. It all went well, in spite of riding across Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, and New Mexico during tornado season with 50+ MPH winds almost all the way (and this was the first time I'd ever ridden a Spyder!)
You’re braver than me Canamjhb! I’ve literally taken one ride on a Spyder to date, and I’m not sure that I’d take on 1,200 miles! Fingers crossed for 300 miles or less. On the other hand, you really got acquainted with the bike over all of those miles.

Make sure you look at the remaining 2024's.
Those remaining 2024's are ridiculously cheap. I think we have 5 models left, about 12 units in total. Those are loser deals for us.
