• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Replacing shocks is it worth it

I have a 2015 RT LTD. I just upgraded the front shocks to Elka Stage 2. What a difference in cornering! If you've ever taken a Spyder into a fast freeway interchange curve, eased off the bar a little bit, and felt the push-back of the nose, that's the lack of ample rebound damping. The shock is...

Don't balance front tires with beads alone

I found the information on beads and low-profile tires after I had figured out myself what appeared to be happening. DynaBeads has a specific statement regarding low-profile applications. Use additional balancing. I used Counteract. Nowhere on their website have I seen anything about...

Don't balance front tires with beads alone

Width ratio is too low, and you will end up with balance issues. Speaking from experience!

    I made a tire mistake

Thanks for that link, and to you BlueKnight911. You are both correct. 7'' rim is supported by the tire. I've called the dealer, but the tech is at lunch. I'm waiting to hear back.

    I made a tire mistake

I bought new Michelin T+H (205/60-15) for my RT. The dealer called and said they were afraid to mount it. They didn't think it would mount wide enough to seat securely. I now either have to go back to the Kenda, or buy another tire and drive 140 miles round-trip to deliver the new tire. One...

    30 psi in frt tires

Sorry, but with the added weight of all of that tire pressure, my mileage went to hell fast. Just too heavy! I'll stick with 4PSI, thank you.

Left Turns/Curves Still a Problem For Me....

I was addressing the OP's question. The road camber rolls the body to the outside. Stepping down on the outside causes the sway bar to counter the roll.

Left Turns/Curves Still a Problem For Me....

You push down with the foot on the outside of the turn. Everyone is forgetting that this machine has a sway (anti-roll) bar. In a left-hand turn, pushing down on the right peg causes the left suspension to compress, causing the body to roll less. I've ridden 17,000 miles on my RT in the last 2+...

    check out this backrest

That's going to respond to suspension movement independent of the passenger. How could that possibly work?

    Bizarre Issue

Not kidding. I hit a deer. As far as I know, there are no pygmy deer in Ohio, other than in the zoo. Two weeks before it happened, I had installed the Rivco chrome bumper for the RT. It must've hit the deer and knocked it down. I went over the deer's hind quarters with the left front and rear...

    Bizarre Issue

I don't know. I would assume that BRP wants the part back so they could do forensic analysis to understand what is going on. I wish I could learn the result if they did.

    Bizarre Issue

There were no repairs required after hitting the deer. I had just installed the Rivco bumper on the bike. The bumper hit the deer, the deer went down, and I went over it. JohnnyK's looked for damage, and decided it was limited to 1/4" alignment issue with the front end. No mods, hundreds of...

    Bizarre Issue

I've been riding the Spyder since I bought it new off the dealer's floor -- ~16,000 miles. Before that 4 Yamahas and 2 GoldWings to the tune of ~250,000 miles. I thought it was me shifting, until it finally clicked it was me cancelling the turn signals. After that, I rode a couple of miles...

    Bizarre Issue

So, the latest update. JohnnyK's Powersports couldn't reproduce the issue. I picked up the bike after the additional maintenance, including fixing the 1/4" misalignment in both front wheels after having hit the deer. On the way home, I was able to reproduce the problem again. Not frequently...

The other day, I nearly hit a low flying B1-RD!
