• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Fenders Gone

Front Tires I put on a set of General 185/60R14's and they fit tight, but they fit....and have loved the way they handle.

    Fenders Gone

New fenders.... Those new fenders do look cool. Might have to see about retrofitting when I finally get my divorce paid off.:gaah:

    RS heat issues

No issues. I have an '08 GS that I've put 58k+ mi on with no heat issues. Even made a few 500 and 600 mi trips in 105F heat with no issues....other than getting stuck in down town Dallas "rush hour" traffic in that heat. Bike did fine, I did not. roflmao

    rs license plate bulb

Same problem Probably is some other issue, but I didn't have a whole lot of luck with that bulb either. Too much vibration for the bulb filament to last very long. Recommend trying to mod to LED light or I've heard someone manufactures an LED bulb that fits in the socket, but couldn't find...

Bike "swerving" with high speed acceleration.

Issue located! Took off the back wheel to change the tire and discovered that the wheel hub bearing and the sprocket bearing had "wallowed" out where they were supposed to be press fit. Didn't think to take pictures until after I had already given the parts to my brother for scrap aluminum...

Bike "swerving" with high speed acceleration.

Other info Thought of some other pertinent info after I posted this. Years don't mean a whole lot with a tire. :opps: Back tire has 12000+ mi on it. Also, had new DPS installed very soon after they became available and update done at the same time. Last time I bought parts, ~3 months ago...

Bike "swerving" with high speed acceleration.

Bike "swerving" with high speed acceleration.

Thought of this the first time it happened, so have paid more attention. Don't do anything different between the times it does oscillate and the times it doesn't. Thanks for the suggestion.

Bike "swerving" with high speed acceleration.

Thanks for the tip. Got to looking myself and started noticing that it seems like the left front has more "give" in the shock than the right. They are both set to the same setting though. I was thinking of taking one or both? of them up a notch. Thought I read somewhere on here very early that...

    How many miles?

52,000 since Aug '09. Used to ride 80 mi a day round trip to and from work. A little closer now, so mileage accrual slowed way down.

How many miles have you ridden in one day on an RS?

longest haul 600 mi Amarillo, TX to Houston, TX; stock seat, 2" factory riser. Should add 105F heat from about Childress, TX on. Bike never overheated, but got stuck in "rush" hour traffic in Dallas and almost passed out. Had to stop just south of Dallas and chug down two Sonic Rt44...

i need a boost of confidence lol

Lemon Law may not apply. In some places the Lemon Law only applies if it is the same component/system that keeps failing. He might have a case with the transmission, but even then, some states require it to be the exact same issue with no resolution. Any change in wording of the issue on the...

Bike "swerving" with high speed acceleration.

I have searched this forum for a bit and couldn't find anything about this issue I'm having. When I am above 60mph, drop into 4th to pass someone, and roll on the throttle quickly, my '08 Spyder starts to squirm/oscillate/swerve. If I back out of the throttle, it goes away. It's intermittent...

    Stock Muffler Gasket?

Could be. :D I'm trying to install a SuperTrapp muffler on my bike and have been doing some experimenting. Unfortunately, in the process I damaged that gasket, which at the time didn't bother me a great deal because that experiment didn't work and my other ideas didn't need it. Now it is...
