• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

The bike, we've never named any of our vehicles. When we had two bikes, we called them the Spyder and the Voyager.

I know, it's been nearly beat to death, Tires

Thanks Ron and Mike! I will order a Riken Raptor and I always appreciate the advice you both provide.

I know, it's been nearly beat to death, Tires

Hey Mike, Looking to replace my Kumho Ecsta rear very soon. I know the fronts on earlier Spyders were a different size so I want to make sure about the rear. Will the Riken Raptor HR 215/60-15 fit on my 2012 RT? Apologies if you already answered this, but I didn't see it in any of the Riken...

    2013 STS left control blank

That switch raises and lowers the windshield on my RT.

How do you reply when asked about the Spyder?

First I tell them that I don't trust my knees and hips anymore to hold up over a thousand (bike, me, and old lady) pounds. Then I tell them that a Spyder is a great alternative, but I do miss that lean when you are just "one with the bike." ;)

Spyders moving outside for a bit, looking for covers

:agree::agree: If you go the portable garage/shed route. I recommend screw-in anchors that are attached to the top frame pieces instead of tent pegs to anchor it to the ground. It could do a good amount of damage to your F3S's if it lifts free in a gust of wind. Voice of experience talking...

Tips & Tricks for the first timer - perhaps beyond

Excellent tip! Had to do this with a water pump one time. It had something like 14 bolts of three different lengths. Don't remember what it was on, but it was probably one of Ford's better ideas! :cus:

    RTS Rear Shock Replacement

Hi Dave, I had 27,250 miles when the rear shock failed. It should have lasted longer based on what I've read here on the forum. That is why I suspect all that two-up riding this year with nothing in the air bag might have accelerated the shock failure. I know OEM shocks are designed to...

    RTS Rear Shock Replacement

Hi Steviep, I just replaced it with the OEM shock. By the way, the part number has changed to 706001262. I am guessing that BRP came up with an improved? shock in 2013 or 2014 and made the new part number retroactive to 2012. I didn't dig any deeper into that, I just wanted to replace the...

    RTS Rear Shock Replacement

The wife was complaining this season about some of the new bumps and potholes hurting more than last year. I tried to miss the bad ones and slow down a little. Also made sure the air bag switch was at maximum setting. A week ago she complained again and I hit the switch and the MANUAL error...

Need to replace the switch under front trunk on my Spyder RT - help?

That's why this forum is so valuable. I never even thought to try and unlock the frunk or seat without first turning the bike off. What a dope I am!

    Newbie Confused About Luggage

We bought a full Hopnel set from Value Accessories last year for our RT and love it. Small (lower) top case bag holds most of our road kit and always stays on the bike. The other bags have handles and are easily carried into motel, the frunk bag even has backpack straps.

    Radio Station Presets...

Handy Guide I don't remember where I found this PDF and it is much too large to attach. I printed a copy and put it in the frunk with my manual. It has easy to follow instructions and best of all, it works! :D If someone can tell me how to attach a 5.5 MB PDF, it would even be legible. :opps:

Will the Ryker price hurt resale of 998 models?

Common, unfortunately Sometimes called personal property tax or luxury tax. If you are paying more than twenty or thirty dollars per year for registration, you are probably paying property tax. This is (or was) deductible on your federal 1040 if you can determine how much of the registration...

    Question about handling....

:agree::agree: I am still a beginner (a little over 3,000 miles) and I have learned to go (almost) hands free when I see some rough road ahead. The handgrips rattle in my hands and the spyder tracks like a dream. Try it the next time you go over railroad tracks and you will see what I mean...
