• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Back Brake pad repl - have I compressed the piston enough?

Tried today to replace rear brakes on a 2010 rt. I compressed the caliper as much as it would go, but still pads are too close together to slip on to rotor. I am using Volar pads. Could it be the Volar pads are too thick? Anybody have experience with Volar pads? Maybe stick with oem parts?

    Gearbox position sensor malfunction

Gear Position Sensor There was a post talking about Magic Mirror magnets...VERY powerful. Some were using 2 of 3 magnets on the mirrors, opting to use the existing guide pin. It was suggested using the unused magnets on the oil filter. So close to the gear sensor, destroyed it. This may have...

    Won't Start, won't turn over

Bad Service We got a new Can Am dealership just a few miles from where I live. I stopped in to pick up a part and asked the parts guy if it would be possible to talk to the mechanic. He knew I didn't buy the bike from them and gave me a nervous answer, like he was afraid what the mechanic would...

Magic Mirrors causing gauges to misread

NO, No, No You do NOT want to put the unused magnets on the oil filter. It screws up the shift sensor (tells what gear you are in on your display). I know, I did it. Said I was in 4th gear, was only in 2nd. Gave me the appropriate error code. As far as the magnetic fields messing with the...

Magic Mirrors causing gauges to misread

I installed magic mirrors Well this explains why BOTH the gauges malfunctioned at the same time. Fuel gauge pinned counter clockwise when low, pins clockwise when over half full. Temp gauge reads hot real fast. Rests at 120 degrees.

    Nightmare on Spyder RT Street

This past month and a half have been a terrible spring riding season. First, I replaced the throttle body that has been acting up since I bought the bike. It started right up before putting it all back together. While I was at it, with the air box removed, decided to change plugs and wires. All...

    Engine coolant temperature gauge light

LED backlight for spyder fuel and temp I did not take a picture of the LED. It consists of a LED and resistor. Remember cars with instrument panels that you could get behind and twist out bad idiot lights? Same kind of mount. I/2 turn and it pops right out. Did find them at the local Can Am...

    Engine coolant temperature gauge light

Gauge bulb replacement Both gauges on the RTS have LED bulbs for back lighting. Once you access the rear of the gauge(s), twist to left and lift it out. NOW, can anybody tell me where to buy these. I saw them once somewhere for under 6 dollars, but for the life of me I cannot remember where...
