• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Akropovic Baffles

TxSpyderGirl just bought a second hand Akro muffler for her F3T without the baffles. Can anyone tell me the model number for the baffles for the Akro? She likes it without the baffles, just want to see how loud it is with them in. Thanks, Bill

    Tricled

I just went through this installation on my wife's F3T with Nestor, with TricLED. He was more than helpful. A couple of points I brought up to him: 1. You need to remove the L bracket in front of the horn, this allows you to fit the horn. and yes, re-install the L bracket after you get the...

    Panel Removal Question

I'm not home standing in front of my wife's F3T, but if I remember, if you remove the seats, it becomes pretty evident what screws you need to remove to remove that panel.

    Shop Side panel removal

I couldn't agree with you more, but you obviously haven't spent a lot of time in the service area of a motorcycle dealerships. (especially BMW dealerships) Small impact drivers save techs a couple minutes removing panel screws. I don't mind so much the removal of the screws, it's when they...

F3T tail rack tail pack pics wanted

Here's TxSpydergirl's topcase rack with her rain gear case on top. Works perfect.

    Shop Side panel removal

Unless of course you get the PitBull Powersports package, and they remove the panels to apply carbon fiber. Trust me PB removed the panels.

    Shop Side panel removal

TXSpyderGirl's F3T had the same issue. Seems that a tech at PB got a little over zealous with an impact driver and cross threaded both bolts on the left hand side of the bike. One was totally munged up (lucky I got it off) and the other was "just" cross threaded. I had to drill out both brass...

    Engine Interference

SpyRyd, I went through the very same thing with my BMW R1200RT. Drove me nuts until I figured it out. YMMV, but in my case, it was a set of cheap Chinese ballasts that were running my HID headlights. If you have any ballasts running any lights, I'd take a look at them. Also, I've heard...

    2016 F3L Antenna Removal Problem

The man speaks the truth, took me 15 seconds to replace TxSpyderGirl's antenna with his instructions. What an idiotic way to attach an antenna. Add it to my list of sub-par engineering solutions on the F3-T.

    F3T Panel Removal

Don't want to get into a lengthy discussion with you Capt about form vs. function, but I've worked on motor vehicles for almost 50 years, and if you have to work on these bikes on a daily basis, you have my sympathy. For a vehicle approaching $30K, not to have a bluetooth radio is a crime. My...

    F3T Panel Removal

OK, got the right side off, and didn't totally mung up the tab. I need to epoxy the tab to strengthen it, but it's still on. I thought I saw grade school engineering on the RT, but this piece of work takes the cake. Here's the slot the tab goes in - sideways. and here's the tab that slides...

You read my mind. I was going to do just that.

    F3T Panel Removal

I can't tell you how much I dislike doing that. :sour: Plastic snap tabs shouldn't be used to secure motor vehicle parts. :lecturef_smilie:

    F3T Panel Removal

When you say "little plastic lip" do you mean a "snap" lip, or a slide lip. I'll pull towards the back of the bike nonetheless. Thanks for the tip. The F3 is much easier to work on than her RT, but Can Am still has a ways to go on design and engineering.

    F3T Panel Removal

I'm breaking down TxSpyderGirl's new F3T to add some power plugs and am stuck. I know the F3 is put together like a Lego toy, but I'm hesitant to pull on this without knowing what's underneath. Has anybody gone this far on an F3T yet? If so, is this just "snapped" in. p.s. - am I the only...
