• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Cat Delete Pipe Recommendations?

When I installed my cat delete (from Lamonster) I was surprised to discover how heavy the catalytic converter was. So, a small saving in weight as well as the other benefits. I used the baffle and original muffler and have been pleased with the small resultant burble.

Amsoil 10w-40 metric oil - what do you think?

There are no real rules about using the term 'synthetic' in Australia either. It's very much 'buyer beware'. Synthetic originally meant man-made as in poly alpha olefins (PAO) or alkylated aromatics which are synthesised hydrocarbons, polyglycols, or organic esters. That definition has now been...

Any ideas to get a stripped Transmission drain plug out?

An earlier post showed the Gold Plugs for the transmission as MP01 with a 12 by 1.5 mm thread, and MP18 for the crankcase. Does anyone know the thread size for the crankcase? I can't find it on the Gold Plug website or in other postings. Thanks in advance.

Amsoil 10w-40 metric oil - what do you think?

Synthetic oils, such as recommended by BRP for my 2022 Spyder tend to have a much higher Viscosity Index (VI) which is the rate of change of viscosity with temperature. Where mineral based oils have a VI of around 95 or so fully synthetic oils have a VI of 150 - 160. Plus, they can achieve this...

Amsoil 10w-40 metric oil - what do you think?

Hi .... I spent my career working for an international oil company in the lubricants technical area. I think it is useful to know where the numbers come from and a little about the tests used to provide that information. I've (hopefully) attached 2 images from the Lubrication Engineer's Manual...

BRP GO to iPhone cable connection works at start up but not afterwards

I doubt I'd be the first person to ask about this but cannot find any info when searching. When I head out on a ride I have the iPhone connected and BRP Go working with Genius maps and iTunes icons showing on the dashboard display, able to open the apps and things working as well as they can be...

'22 RT glove box USB won't charge iPhone as GPS - any work around?

I just finished a small test on my 2022 RTL using an Apple approved cable with the glove box USB. The iPhone was at 55% so it was charging and I was running Genius Maps and music. The charging voltage was 5 Volts and the charging current was steady at 900 mA - 4.5 Watts or 450 mW. I guess this...

'22 RT glove box USB won't charge iPhone as GPS - any work around?

Looking on-line it seems that a regular USB A type connector (looks to be the type on my RTL) can provide 100mA current at 5V (500mW). The manual does not provide any advice. If this is the case, then, if the phone app being used requires more than the available current then the phone's...

Just finished installing my new Spyderpops KOTT Grille.

Took me about an hour or so to do.

Just finished installing my new Spyderpops KOTT Grille.

I just finished installing these grilles on my 2022 Spyder RTL. All pretty straightforward and the result looks good - a huge improvement to the original look in my opinion. The instructions are reasonably clear to follow and the parts all fit together nicely. One addition would be that a right...

Suspension air noise - does my '22 S2S have ACS? Or is this a fault?

Hi .... I have the same model with about 800 kms on it. Whilst I haven't experienced your problem, I took mine back for service last week due to a suspension fault warning. The problem, according to the tech, was a loose bolt on the suspension actuator. Seems OK now. Page 56 of my manual has a...

RT Ltd Suspension fault - does it have a Schrader valve? Where? Ideas?

An update on my problem. Just back from the dealer. The Tech said the problem was a loose bolt in the suspension actuator and that he's seen this previously. The bolt is in under where the passenger footpeg is on the LHS. All seemed OK on the way home from the dealer.

RT Ltd Suspension fault - does it have a Schrader valve? Where? Ideas?

Thanks all for the helpful suggestions. The Schrader valve extension is particularly clever. I have arranged to take the bike to the dealer next Wednesday and will update this thread with any findings.

RT Ltd Suspension fault - does it have a Schrader valve? Where? Ideas?

My 2022 RT Ltd has done less than 700 kms (< 450 miles) (bought it new 2 months ago). On the freeway on the last couple of days at 100 km/hr (60 mph) after about 10 km (6 m) I get the suspension fault icon flashing. No rough road or large bumps. I stopped, checked it over, all seemed OK...

Throttle 'binding' after Grip Puppy installation - any fixes/ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions. My new Spyder is a RT LTD SE 22 (Sea to Sky). I've added three photos of the grip end below. It seems like, as some have suggested, that compressing the spring is what causes the binding. Loosening the bar end bolt helps a little but doesn't solve it completely. I'm...
