• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Engine turns over, but won't start -- what to do?

The dealership called last night. They claim I need a new fuel pump. $990 total bill for parts and labor! Seriously?!? This bike has less than 3,000 miles on it. Yes, it's out of warranty, but does it sound right that I need to replace the fuel pump after so little use? I'd like to hear some...

Engine turns over, but won't start -- what to do?

OK, tow trailer just hauled it to the nearest dealership. ($60 total, not bad really.) I'll learn in the next day or three what the issue allegedly was and what it'll cost me. I'll post back just so we can close out this thread. --Spyme

Engine turns over, but won't start -- what to do?

Kill switch -- not that -- it wouldn't turn over if the kill switch wasn't in the "on" position. It cranks over just fine. Mice & wiring -- nope. No mice here. Clean, rodent and bug-free, totally dry enclosed environment. The engine is cranking over, but not roaring to life. Spark plugs -- only...

Engine turns over, but won't start -- what to do?

I've had my Spyder sitting unused in a Phoenix garage for six months of hot summer weather. It was on a battery charger that whole time. It has fuel. Today, eager to go on a long overdue ride, I went out to start it... fail. Battery seems fine, it tuns over, and over, and over, but won't start...

    BRP Comfort Seat, how much?

The new BRP comfort seat has been installed! (Woo-Hoo!) Now my question is, what to do with the original stock seat? Any takers? Try to sell it on ebay? Throw it away? Turn it into wall art? --SpyMe

    BRP Comfort Seat, how much?

I apologize if this has already been addressed here, but I'm curious. I just had the new BRP comfort seat installed. I'd appreciate any replies as to how much you may have paid for the seat, and more importantly, how much you paid to have it installed. Apparently there's some electrical and yaw...

best way to move a spyder?

Wrap your Spyder We bought ours in Colorado and had to get it back home to Phoenix, AZ. We had no experience riding back then, so we used a flat bed trailer. The solution we used to protect the Spyder was to wrap it in commercial-grade pallette wrap. It's the stuff warehouse guys use and a full...

Any Update to the Update Yet?

So, update or not? As of September 11, 2009, I have not yet had the update applied to our Spyder. I'm not experiencing any problem I feel I need to fix. So, given the "issues," would you update or blow it off? --SpyMe

    Protecting Your Spyder

I'm positive it has to be cut while being installed. It's an artful mix of wetting the surfaces, stretching the film into place, squeeging, and final trimming. --SpyMe

    Protecting Your Spyder

(Long post, forgive me, but I do end up writing about protecting your Spyder.) I recently bought a 2006 Infinity G35 that had a clear film applied to the frontal bumper and hood area. The film had also been applied to the frontal surfaces of the side mirrors, but was just beginning to fray ever...

    Spyder Hauling

Spyder Hauling, one option... We bought ours out-of-state, and when it came time to pick it up, we trailered it on a small flat-bed. We wrapped it in pallete wrap to protect it, and it worked quite well. --SpyMe

Spyder Backrest, locking pin not so locked?

We have a standard BRP Spyder factory backrest, which has a horizontal pin that locks it into the seat assembly. But, the pin is too short for the the lock washers which slip off. Once in place on the bike, the pin has no where to go, but when it's removed, that pin will fall out and hide...

So who am I going to see at the BRP event in June?

"'Bout time you made it official spyme... " No argument there! Just been waiting almost a year to say something relevant, and not sound stupid. This has been a great read, and a great ride. --SpyMe (x2)
