• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you own another motorcycle besides your Spyder?

I like your choice of a 2 wheeler. About 5 years ago, I got the “new” edition Ninja 400. Lightweight, 70 mpg, still lets me Lean!!!!!!. If I hadn’t chosen that, I would have certainly considered the 390 Duke. Nice rig that is… SP

What do you do to Secure your RT 622 At Hotels?

Like others here, I have used a chain to secure it to a pole, railings, etc. But, if someone really wants it…….

Do I need a new battery?????

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I believe that soon, I am going to change the battery and get a proper charger to get the new battery an adequate first charge/top off. I will certainly look at the chargers suggested here by Baja Ron and K80shooter. Thanks fellas…. SP

Do I need a new battery?????

Ron, That is the answer for sure for a NEW battery. I didn’t know what it was labeled, (BS), but am familiar with the concept. Now, the problem I have is the Initial charge after filling the acid. I don’t have a battery charger. Guess it wouldn’t hurt to get one. I really don’t trust the...

Do I need a new battery?????

Thanks Ron, that is just what I am attempting to do. Just keep the battery at the “full” level while it is resting in the garage.

Star washers……Had not thought of that. If they are not present, I will pick some up for this project. Thanks for the suggestion!! SP

Do I need a new battery?????

Exactly…….Just because it is a “New” battery, doesn’t mean it was “seasoned” and brought up to full capacity before installation. That is my concern about getting a new one. I will have to be very cautious about the initial charge, or LACK of it. SP

How tight should the oil drain plug be?

Personally, I go by the mfgr’s torque specs. I have had car dealers tighten the plug so tight that I had to use an extended socket handle. Can’t trust those buggers. SP

Do I need a new battery?????

Ok, 2021 S2S, new to me. It has a pig tail for a battery tender. I plugged it in and the tender just flashed with the red “charging” light. This went on for most of the day yesterday. I have another bike that was plugged in (different but same model tender). The other bike had a steady...

48 States in 27 Days at Age 84

If that had been me, there would have been an expense for a set of new “drawers”. Maybe even throw the Levis away and start anew too. Just sayin’… BTW….I along with everyone else enjoy the musings, allowing us to live vicariously through your reports. My thanks, young man. SP

I put my Spyder to bed today, for A Long Winter's Sleep!

My best wishes and prayers to you friend. I had a lobectomy 18 months ago for the same. Although the treatments are rough on the rest of the body, I think they are making loads of advances in getting rid of this stuff. Stay positive. I am hoping it is gone for you soon. From another Old...

How do you secure your Helmets when leaving your bike?

I agree with you 100%. That is exactly what I do with my helmet(s). My sweaty helmet is not a rich target. In fact, I haven’t locked the ignition on my HD RoadKing for the last 18 years. We went on a week long trip and forgot the fob. I have’t used it since.

Was this a Fuel Indicator Reserve Notification?

I have seen the 3 dashes before. And, when I do, I stop for fuel at the first opportunity and relatively soon after they appear. But, when I fill up, I have observed that the amount of fuel onboarded was 5.2-5.7 US gallons. At that rate and with the mileage I get, that would indicate at...
