• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Sputtering Spyder

My California emissions SM5 08' has had a miss or what I call sputtering. It seems to be getting worse and it only does so around 3500-4500 rpm. This is when it is at a steady cruise (I have cruise added so I know it is not throttle change). I cruise at 70 + and when the rpm's are 5k or above it...

    Awesome sidecars

:agree: The Urals are fun around town but limited on long trips, although I know a friend that rode his from San Jose Ca to Death Valley. Thats a long trip at 60mph. I had a Velorex 562 sidecar set up on my BMW R100RT for a while but my French Bulldog did not like to ride like my previous...

How fast have you driven you Spyder and under what conditions?

I've had mine up to 122 and held it there until my exit came up:gaah:, the sport bike that was running next to me was surprised I think. I still had throttle left even at that speed. Mike:

    RT Sales versus Service

I would think service would be the top priority, at least to me anyway. The RT is a great machine that has been designed very well. I hope that BRP will push to make sure the customer is well taken care of and all issues addressed quickly. The RT customer will be a person who does not "tinker"...

    KewlMetal performance air kit installed

I just installed the KewlMetal air cleaner last weekend and I do not find the intake noise offensive. It reminds me of my younger days on my Super Sport when I'd flip the air cleaner cover to get the intake sound from the QuadraJet carb. I do like being able to see and work on the motor on the...

    Second Impressions

I just rode the RT on Monday and agree with Scotty's comments. I had to ride with a tour group and did not really get out of 4th gear. Although the Can Am Rep. noted the power difference from the RS but adjusted for torque I felt like it was comparing a touring motorcycle (RT) to a sport bike...

    Differents between brakes

I started to get a Brake Fault on the ride down to the LA meet but everything worked fine so I didn't get it checked until my return home. I took it in to my dealer and when hooked up to the computer they found the brake pressure low. I had always thought the braking was not as good as all my...

Can we just shut up and race ?

How about setting up a Gymkana like some of the sport car guys do? I think that would be a blast for the spyder. Mike

    rear light upgrade

I replaced the stock reflector plate light with a LED light from Kragen and the license plate frame with one that has LED's across the top to light the plate from a motorcycle accessory dealer. I wired the LED's to come on when I apply the brakes to give more rear visibility. Mike

    Spyder / Piaggio MP3 500 Need Advice

The Piaggio MP3 is a great scooter. The one your looking at is the 500cc which has good power and can cruise and be stable on the freeway. I have not had the opportunity to ride one but others I talk to are very happy with theirs. If the stability issue is why you are looking into the Spyder...

I got the Pre production Blues

Glad you enjoyed your brief stint on the new RT, reminds me of that old song, "She will have fun fun fun til her daddy takes the T-Bird away" Except in your case "Lamonster had fun fun fun til BRP took the RT away" :ohyea::ohyea::( Hope they return it to you for more testing. Sure wished I...

    brake failure code !!

My Spyder came up with the Brake Failure code on the trip to LA for the BRP celebration. I still had brakes and I checked the fluid so I conitinued on and it remained on for my trip home. I took it to my dealer and thy found that the pressure for the brakes was low. They bled the complete...
