• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    How dangerous is road debris?

Like they are saying look as far down the road as possible to spot debris. Especially give yourself that extra distance behind vehicles that you can not see around or over. Watch that traffic out in front of you that may be dodging something that you can not yet see.

17,000 Miles and the front pulley is history!

A question I have not seen about the front pulley spines is if the drive belt vibration is a major contributing factor to the wear of the splines. You are feeling that vibration and all that vibration has to go through both pulleys of the drive belt to get to you.

    GPS

I use the nuvi 57 Garmin the same one I use for work. Bought the ram ball to Garmin adapter so I could use the regular mount for the Garmin. I works good and very little issue with not being able to see the screen. Remember that any apps for phone mapping do not work when you do not have cel...

    Wanting XM on 2012RTSE Ltd

I do not have the factory XM but did put the SiriusXM Onyx EZ vehicle kit on my RT and it runs through the auxiliary input. The antenna is inside the rear trunk mounted to one of the screws that the back rest has the slot and it works good. Just have to stop to change channels.

    Cargo Trailer?

For a trailer I have a 6' X 12' utility with dove tail and bi-folding rear ramp. Had to order it because it was narrower than what they normally stock. Would go with a single axle for better fuel mileage. V-nose probably less wind drag. When I did my trailer was wanting to keep it as close to...

Has anyone installed one of these?

I can see that this would be a option to have and hopefully don't need to use it very often. It would also be a very easy way to trickle charge a battery or connect a battery maintainer when needed. As far as the possibility of getting water in around the cap, it is brass and should not hurt...

    Helmet dilemna

The first helmet that I bought when I purchased the RT and this helmet had the Sena system added to it. What I found was that the Sena speakers would cause ear pain after I had worn the helmet for some times less than an hour. I found the Bell Mag-9 which is designed for the Sena and the...

    XM radio

On an XM radio if you have signal it will always give you the preview channel and be able to access the radio ID regardless of the subscription status. For good signal you need to be able to look to the south and up at about a 10:00 angle with out obstructions. I do not have the factory XM but...

Trailering a Spyder on an open trailer

I trailer my RT on an open trailer with a wind dam on the front to protect it from something coming up from the road and then at night put the travel 1/2 cover on the bike. This has worked well.

    Oil Consumption

My 2015 RT used about a 1/2 quart in the first 2,000 miles, but has not used any more had it serviced at the 3,000 mile mark and have about 7,000 on it now. I attributed it to the engine breaking in.

Whats the best and easiest GPS unit

I just use the Garmin NUVI 57LM it is what I use all the time when traveling. The Garmin is easy to use and you came put in multiple stops in your route. I used the Lamonster SpyderDock and then used the 1" ram ball by 17mm ball made of aluminum by GPSBikemount. This setup works good. Easy to...

Getting ready to purchase first Spyder.

I would talk with Pitbull Powersports in Springfield. I did a lot of looking before I bought and in my travels was able to see quite a few different dealers in multiple states. What I found was that Pitbull Powersports knew their product and was proud to be able to be selling such an excellent...
