• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP 12V Power Outlet Installation on 2013 ST-S

12V Outlet Install Thanks for the info. I recently bought a GPS and want a 12V outlet for it. $150 for the dealer to install it seems like a lot, but now it is looking like a reasonable deal. Next time it is in for service, I think I will do that. Of course it would also be useful to...

UPDATE: Is my new machine just NOT made for those twisty-turnies?

Taking Curves I had the same experience at first. I rode two wheelers for about 35 years. Part of the learning curve was to gain confidence in how stable the Spyder really is and learn how far you can go without the inner wheel lifting. It helps a lot if you lean into the curves, almost like...

    I brought home a STS

Congratulations! I see you got a beautiful Metallic Circuit Yellow one, like mine. I went for VISIBILITY, and added the optional fog lights which are on all the time. I want to be SEEN!

    Is ST-S back in production?

Lower Ball Joint Recall For a while they were not releasing the ST-S from the factory because they were addressing the recall for the lower ball joints. There were some shipment delays because of that. I would think by now they have caught up and there shouldn't be any delays. I bought mine...

    Lower Ball Joints

Thanks I follwed the suggestions and read the Do's/Don'ts. Very informative. Whatever the "helicopter" sound was, it is gone now, so no worries. Took a 150 mile ride yesterday on a mix of curvy and straight roads. Loved using the cruise control. I kept my revs up and at times rode in lower...

Newb looking to get a ST Limited

Cruise Control I just went on a nice 150 mile ride yesterday on my ST-S SE5. I love the cruise control! I now have 1,300 miles on my bike and had the lower balljoint replacement and now it steers very nicely. I saw 34 other bikes during my ride yesterday. Two were Goldwing trikes and one...

New to spyders, which one to purchase?

ST-S SE5 I have 1,200 miles on my ST-S SE5 at this point. Just had the lower ball joint recall done and the handling is pretty darned good now. I like the upright seating and the taller windshield, as well as the footboards. The electric shift is great, too. How cool is it to have Reverse...

    Lower Ball Joints

Thanks Thanks for the tips. In my conversation with the Dealer's Service yesterday afternoon, I was advised to rev the bike higher. I know it produces the best power around 7,000 RPM, but it just seemed better for fuel economy to get it into 5th gear around 50 MPH. But it isn't until around...

    ST-S SE5 Circuit Yellow Metallic

Green on replacement frunk lid When I picked up my bike, the dealer had tried to fix a sticky latch and managed to crack the lid for about 9 inches down the middle. They replaced it for free, of course, at break-in service...but I notice the inside of the replacement frunk lid does show some...

    Lower Ball Joints

Just got my ST-S back from the dealer after installing replacement lower ball joints, and was very pleased at the improvement in the handling. Almost all of the "twitchiness" is gone now. I have noticed, however, a sort of "helicopter" noise at speeds up around 60 MPH, which seems to come from...

    Oregon Dealers

I believe there are only two official dealers now in Oregon. SK Northwest in Portland and one in Medford. I know for a fact that the one on Portland Road in Salem went out of business about a year ago.

    Recall/ Bulletin (already?) & ST deliveries on hold ? ? ? ? ?

Recall I agree about the Recall. It is for the lower ball joints. I just did my first service and the Service Manager asked me to phone them in about three weeks, when they expect to have the new parts in. He said that the upgrade would result in a significant improvement in handling. I am...

Does any one know of a fix yet? ST-S Steering???

Steering Recall I just had my first service on my ST-S last Friday. The Service Manager told me there is a Recall on the lower ball joints of the ST-S and the parts are just getting out to the dealers. He thought his would be in by the third week of April. He said it was supposed to make a...

SE5 Dies at the Gas Station after fill up

Jumper Cables I carry a neat little set of jumper cables called "The Bitty Booster Cable" by Northeastern. You can probably Google a source for them. They come in a neat little 7 inch diameter bag that is about 2 inches thick. I used them once to save a scooter that had been left with the...

Vinyl "Carbon Fiber" on ST-S Nose

Source The type I ended up installing came from a place called "www.Metrorestyling.com" and it looks like their phone number is 888-488-4695. you get a roll that is about 18 inches wide and maybe 40 inches long. It cost something like $15-$20.
