• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Did my own 3000 mile oil change - not a big deal

I just did my first oil change on the 2024 Spyder RTL last Friday. I read on this forum about folks having trouble with the torx head drain plugs, but they didn't give me any trouble at all. I did learn two things, though. One is about lifting the Spyder off the ground. I ran the front wheels...

Forever mystified by Can Am's lack of style...

My 2003 BMW R1150RT is almost exactly the same color, and does that same gray/blue color shifting. I named her Emma Gray, because that is the question she is always asking.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I took her off the battery tender after a 3-month nap, started her up, and took her for a ride. Granted, it was only a 15 minute ride to a local coffee shop to meet a friend, but boy did that ride ever feel good.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I was wondering what effect a slippery snowy surface would have on the nanny. Would the slipping be enough to mess with its mind and make riding the Spyder no fun?

Let’s start a fad - passing Spider Rings (from Amazon) to other Spyders

Mine does, too, courtesy of my oldest step son. I hung it from the right lower A arm so I can see it while ryding.

Looking for a good GPS - Touring, no off road. Considering Garmin Zumo XT - thoughts?

Even with Basecamp and a Garmin GPS, you need to pay close attention to shaping points when plotting your route. Otherwise the GPS will come up with a route that is different from the one you saw in Basecamp. And import that same GPX file into two different Garmin GPSs and you will likely see...

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

People like Lamont are rare, but thank God for them. When I began my engineering career with my freshly minted BSEE, I worked with an older man who was nearing retirement. He did not have any college education, but he knew how to figure things out and how to make things work. I learned an...

IT people have a term for that: PEBCAK And when I used to work at Autozone, we would sometimes determine that a customer's problem was actually a loose nut behind the wheel.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

The TPMS I bought from Amazon for my Beemer transmits only when they are detecting motion. Good for battery life, but it also means that I don't get updated readings until I'm 1/4 mile down the road.

Oop's! Look out BRP, Honda has a new 3-wheeler coming out!

Yep. Watch closely to the rear wheel during some of the pan shots. It looks like it is turning. This is a classic AI telltale.

I guess I'm just not a Twisties guy!

Last Sunday I was riding on OH 60, 83, 676, and 339 down in that area. Lots of great roads there. And, if your GPS is inclined to trick you onto gravel roads, there are plenty of those as well. AMHIK.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I work from home, but my client wanted me to come work on-site for two weeks. It's supposed to be dry all week, so I decided to ride my Spyder to the job, 223 miles one way! I'll ride home Friday evening, then ride back next Monday morning. Riding my Spyder just about every day for two weeks...
