• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Feedback on the new Forum Format?

I really like the clean interface and the related fonts. Makes reading much easier on both computer and tablet.

    I am now Spyderless

Pete, all the best to you! Sorry to hear but understandable. At least now I've learned that rough roads are not the exclusive property of California!

    Happy Birthday

Celebrated my 70th birthday this week a few different ways: 1. A trip with my brother, including a first visit to the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee. Great trip, wonderful museum! 2. A tour of Harley Powertrain Operations - thanks to our guide, Stephanie, for both education and great humor...

Any Ideas on how to get dual input via a 3.5 cable?

What I have not seen anyone say yet is that the Y-cable (or splitter) is meant to divide one output into two. The cable itself - if it is stereo - has three wires: one left positive, one right positive, and one common ground; there are three contacts on the male plug, one for each wire. The tip...

Your Weather News @ August 2024

California Central Valley: Choice of hot, really hot, and blistering. Highs in July and August have averaged between 105 and 115. In the 80s or more at 8 AM. I think we have somehow inherited Phoenix-like weather. Go early or stay home...

How Wet have you ever been on your Spyder??

I suppose you can only get so wet, then it's just soaked. COLD and wet is another story... that's a particularly miserable situation. That said, I find the Spyder leaves me far less soaked through than any other motorcycle I've owned. The weather protection is pretty good.

My Spyder journey - Harley RoadKing to Spyder RT

I had a chance to ride an F3 Limited on the BRP demo rides last summer. It is closer to the Harley feel, and I like that. If I buy another Spyder, it will most likely be an F3 Limited. Thanks for your message! That’s what it’s all about… :doorag: Cheers, Bob I appreciate the kind words...

My Spyder journey - Harley RoadKing to Spyder RT

Why would someone buy a Spyder? Becoming an owner was a process for me, but probably not the same experience as you. I totaled my beloved 2000 Harley RoadKing in 2018. I had happily owned it for 16 years. I rode that bike from Southern California to HD’s 100th anniversary celebration in...

I just picked up Another 2018 RT!

Thanks for the kind words. Didn’t realize they were not BRP wheels. I will say that BRP and Harley have one thing in common - very high prices on parts!

What makes a Spyder's smoother ride vs. Ryker?

Hello Chuck, If you want to stay with the Ryker platform but with an improved ride, you might want to test ryde a Rally model. Definitely better shocks, and adjustable too. Bob

I just picked up Another 2018 RT!

Hi Snoking, I like the wheels you put on the Asphalt Gray, but I’m not sure they are 2019 wheels. I have a 2019 Asphalt Gray RT Limited with the chrome package, and the wheels on mine have a Y split just short of the rim. I like the chrome finishes on the 2019s better than the 2020+ models...

Check out my Can Am Trailer

I drove a set of doubles (2 28’ van trailers with a connecting gear between them) for about 6 months. While they CAN be backed up a short distance, they get out of line pretty quickly. Normal practice is to break the set and back each wagon separately. Don’t know that it would be any different...

    Went To Buc-ee's in Atlanta!

No Buc-ees anywhere near me, but I'm surprised they don't allow 18-wheelers. I never figured on that. The more you know...
