• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Handle Bar Alignment

I knocked my wheels out of alignment, by riding through a ditch, and must have bent up some suspension component. Using my own home made alignment tool I was able to correct toe from 2 degrees toe out to 1 degree toe in. I believe factory recommended is zero to 2 degrees toe in? Anyway my...

    Just hit my first dog

Another first for me, been riding two wheelers for lots of years and had a couple of close calls but today I actually ran over a rather large dog with my 2015 RT Spyder. Cruising a two lane paved country road two up with the wife, cruise set at 30 MPH. As I approached a farmhouse an automobile...

    Find Original Dealer

Last autumn I purchased my 2015 Spyder RT from an estate. The previous owner was the only owner and I would like to find out where he purchased it from. The machine is in perfect order and needs no work but when something does need attention in the future, it might be beneficial to return it to...

    Belt Guard Removal

Being an old guy with time on my hands this winter I decided to remove the belt guard and check out conditions behind there. Only two 6MM Torx screws for removal, right? I was surprised to discover that there were nuts on the other end of those screws that were very hard to access. Once removed...

Looking at a Used 2014 RT Limited - is it worth it?

Last autumn I bought a 2015 RT SE6 with 7000 miles for $12000. Mine is in excellent shape, no weathered finish or pitted chrome. $15000 seems too high, keep shopping.

Part Identification - what are the brass knurled knobs??

Recently had to pull off some plastic panels for access to change the equalizer bar. With the front panels removed, the one with three grommets and no screws, there was exposed a straight knurled brass cap screwed onto something. There is one of these brass pieces on each side of the machine. I...

    BaJa Ron’s sway bar install

I just installed a new bar on my 2015 RT last week and could not believe the difference in handling. With standard suspension it felt like it was going to roll over when riding on a high crowned road in a cross wind. Because the temperature was near freezing, the test ride was short, but I am...

    Should I lubricate grommet?

I just installed a new sway bar on my new to me 2015 RT yesterday. I got a lot of guidance from a youtube video by Can-Am Spyder Accessories. In the video the installer suggested spraying "a little white grease" on the grommets that hold the snap on panels in place thus making it easier to...

    Wheel alignment specifications

Thanks to all who answered my posting. I was just looking for toe expressed in degrees so I could apply the math. Zero degrees seems reasonable and relatively easy to verify, no math required. I bought my 2015 RT at an estate sale a month ago so there was no conversation with the previous owner...

    Wheel alignment specifications

Answering my own question here. Found in the service manual that the specified Toe In is 0 degrees +/- 0.2 degrees. Found nothing on caster or camber. Not adjustable anyway I believe.

    Wheel alignment specifications

I see several references in this forum concerning Lazer Alignment but have not found actual factory specifications anywhere. Anybody know what the spec's are?

Can I use Mobil1 10W/40 Synthetic oil (Not MC) in my Spyder?

At least one of the responses to this initial question responded that there has been big changes in engine oil in the past decades. I agree that indeed this seems to be the case. My owners manual, for my 2015 RT, specifies API service grade SL,SJ,SH or SG. The API web site informs that SH and SG...

    Use of a towing strap?

Thank you all for the info and advice. An anchor ring on the shock/spring is a good idea. You don't expect to ever need to tow but it's good to have a plan just like my automobile has a removable panel in the front bumper to accommodate a towing hook.

    Use of a towing strap?

Just wondering if a disabled Spyder with SE6 transmission can be towed with a towing strap? Do the brakes still work without the engine running? Would towing damage the transmission? Where can you attach a towing strap?

How can I identify aftermarket Stabiliser Bars?

A new owner here of a 2015 RT model. Been riding two wheelers for the past 60 years and having trouble adjusting to the trike characteristics, feels like it's tipping over on highly crowned road surfaces and made worse by a gusting crosswind. I've been reading here on this forum that there are...
