• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    1st oil change

Unfortunately, no... I dropped it off and they did the service in the background. The one thing that I did learn from the process is that it's messy and, if not done properly, it will make your bike smoke and stink for days. The windage tray under the motor is in the spill/splash zone during...

RYKER 600cc vs 900cc TOP speed and acceleration

60-95 mph roll-on is very good on the 900/Rally (video below), and maintaining anything in that range is effortless (assuming that you have a windscreen and a cruise control). The freeway duty can be quirky, depending on your particular unit's alignment and if you have lots of off-camber roads...

    1st oil change

Agreed, the owner/operator manual is very vague on the maintenance intervals, and the info is spread throughout the manual instead of being condensed into a traditional table format. Another thing to note is that you need to refer to the online manuals as the de-facto reference, and NOT the...

RYKER 600cc vs 900cc TOP speed and acceleration

Well, I had to satisfy my curiosity about the Rally's top speed, so I did a quick top speed run Monday morning. Here is the result: 105 indicated, 102 GPS. I was headed into a slight head wind, so it might pull another 1-2 MPH in calm air, but I think it was mostly tapped out. -- QM

Results from Can-Am/BRP engineer conference call

I purchased parking brake lock from the dealer, so apparently I'll need the bolts as well... hopefully they have those in stock already! -- QM

    Insurance Cost

I'm in Katy, TX and insured by Geico (lots of bikes, cars, and RV). The cost for my Ryker Rally on a 1-year policy is $595.02. Here are is the policy break down: - multi-car discount - perfect driving record, no claims - 48 year-old male, married - recent MSF certification/discount -...

Results from Can-Am/BRP engineer conference call

Yeah, I got the same song and dance from my dealer and from BRP. I've been riding/racing karts, cars, and street bikes for 34+ years and I know an alignment issue when I feel one. I raced 3-wheelers and quad-racers for years in my youth, and I've also ridden several other Spyders (RT's and F3's)...

    Handling: 900 ACE versus Rally

I commute on the Ryker for work sometimes, and I've noticed that I get DBS (dirty butt syndrome) from the water kicking up through the rear splash tray behind the seat. If I'm wearing rain gear, then it's no problem; however, I get spin-off even over minor wet surfaces (e.g. water runoff from...

    Handling: 900 ACE versus Rally

I own the Rally and I chose it because of the adjustable suspension and included MAX mount. The tire choices for the 16" front are limited right now, but the 15" rear is a common size that should be easy enough to swap to a different brand. I have noticed that the OEM Kenda tires tend to squirm...

    Ryker 600 1000 mile update

And wind/weather conditions... particularly for smaller-displacement machines. A 15 MPH headwind on a smaller motorcycle can make a 25-30% impact on fuel economy at highway speeds. -- QM

    Ryker 600 1000 mile update

Are you tracking your MPG's on Fuelly or other public sites? I have been tracking several of my bikes for a few years on Fuelly and it's a great benefit to the community... particularly for prospective owners that are considering a purchase decision (e.g. 600 vs 900) based on fuel economy or for...

    Ryker Rally CVT Noise

Thanks to your comment/advice on YT, my dealer found the same issue on both fenders on my Rally when they were doing the sway bar install. My wire harnesses weren't damaged yet, but they agreed that it was a clearance/routing issue. They drilled a couple of holes in the underside plastics and...

    Rally shocks

:agree: Good call on reducing the front spring preload. The Rally's front shocks don't have enough rebound damping (non-adjustable), so the wheel hop can be a real nuisance. I'm reducing my front preload today to address that issue. However, I have noticed that adding the stiffer BRP sway bar...

    LED Auxiliary Light

Each of the accessories has a male-female daisy-chain connection that allows you to link up multiple items. Everything is powered from a single accessory connector on the bike's harness, and then the accessories link to each other. -- QM

    LED Auxiliary Light

I noticed the same thing in the docs when I installed my handguard lighting. I think it's just related to cable lengths and routing options... everything is daisy-chained from a single bike harness/connector. Also, keep in mind that this is a relatively low-amperage connection and you shouldn't...
