• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Who did that?

Thanks Thanks Lois. :bowdown:I am pleased that you managed to track it down. Pogo.

    Who did that?

I've been running searches for a couple of hours looking for an old (2009-ish) about an exhaust mod. :banghead: The mod involved making a pair of cones out of perforated plate and fitting them inside the elbow of (I think) a Hindle pipe. Can anyone recall who made this mod? Maybe post a link...

    Can am Spyder RS handbrake

DIY hand brake. I'm a right leg amputee in Oz. The ISCI brake seemed ideal, but the cost, plus shipping and taxes when it lands made me go another route. For several years I ran a pedal on the left side of my '08 GS SE5, linked to the standard brake with a rod across the frame. There are...

    Electrical Question

Great info Hi Bill. It was a long time ago, but your answer persisted in the search logs, and today it solved a problem for me. Thanks for posting what you found, and thanks to SpyderLovers for keeping it where I could find it. Pogo

    Thermal event

Once you've had black, there's no going back. ;) Sorry that this has happened to you Ann. I hope that you come out of it with the same sense of humour you have shown here. The bike can be replaced, but you are a one-off. Pogo. 2008 GS. So far fireproof.

SE5 Not revving after changing gear

Yep. or something connected to it :agree: My 2008 SE5 has almost never blipped the the throttle when downchanging. The dealer tried replacing the blipper on two occasions, but still the problem persisted. It could be a poor connection at the TCM or the TCM could be faulty. There could be a...

Turn Signal / Brake Light - LEDs installed (w/pix)

Hot resistor. Great post Motovar. The engineer in me finds this unsatisfactory. One reason for fitting LEDs is to reduce heat. It is normally radiated inside the lamp housings where you can't feel it. Moving it to a resistor seems to defeat the purpose of using LEDs. It should be...

    Rear tire wear

15" tyre problem There is a small problem with running the 15" car tyre. I first discovered it when fitting a car tyre to the back of my sidecar hauling Kawasaki. A 15" car tyre is 14.968" at the bead. A 15" motorcycle tyre is 15.08" at the bead. the difference is quite significant, over a...

    Wheel alignment

I'm sorry to neg that Scotty. I bought my own BUDS late last year. I find it very useful for those little things like resetting sensors as well as for looking through fault codes to figure out what needs attention. If I can buy one here in Oz, you guys ought to be able to order them in sixteen...

Not bleeping on downshift, check trams light on and off

If you can't hear the click when you turn the ignition on then the blipper isn't working. There is a troubleshooting sequence for checking that in the workshop manual, but everything ends in "...Replace the blipper". The TCM could be faulty, but it is more likely to be the blipper. It is a...

    15MM sway bar

I fitted a 15 mm sway bar about a month ago. It made a huge improvement to the handling. My Spyder feels more stable and sits more upright in corners. I had had the standard front shocks jacked up to the highest preload to help control the leaning in corners and it worked, but it wasn't...

Yep. Last week. Same place. I got the same fix as Mr Gone. Cheers; Pogo.

    Belt Adjustment Problem

It's normal When you adjusted the belt, you 'tilted' the axle in the swing arm. That mis-aligned the rear disk slightly with the rear brake caliper, which is mounted on the swingarm. The noise should disappear soon as the pads wear to the new position of the disk. You might get some relief...

Electrical bus protocols what I've found so far

Thank you That was me. Thank you Alton. I can see that I can get most of what I want this way. If my Spyder ever comes back from the shop, and if I then decide to keep her, I will take advantage of this to do my own servicing. :2thumbs: That would be useful. I gather that you use the CAN bus...
